I knew Kevin when we both were part of Antioch in Basking Ridge, NJ. I still have one of the postcards he sent me when we were on one of our retreats together.

I worked with Kevin for a brief time, and I still think of him today. I remember that he was a very decent fellow with a great smile. The years since 9/11 have gone by quickly, but the hurt never really ends. God bless the Hannaford family.

I grew up in Basking Ridge, NJ and worked at Nino's Pizza. Years later I became a U.S. Marine and always remember the faces and names of people back home. There are many reasons I still wear the uniform today.... The Hannaford family is one of them. Semper Fi.

Any relation to Jason Christopher Hannaford of United Kingdom?

I'm here. I wrote a letter to Kevin's wife 5 years ago. I still remember Kevin. I never knew him, but his love and the man he was, his strength came to me, a girl from Italy, on the other side of the world, who just admires him by reading what his family and friends tell about him. My prayers to you and your family. May you rest in peace, Kevin.

Kevin lived two streets away from and we graduated together. He was such a kind hearted person-I will always remember his smile, it had a way of touching you! Just a very special part of my young life and I will remember you always!

Just found a picture of Kevin and I at one of the many parties we were at together.  One of the greatest smiles that ever existed.  He was a hugger, too.  That's always on my mind.  I miss that.  Always in my thoughts and prayers.

We think of Kevin and the others often.  Bill coached Kevin on his soccer team when he was a small boy.  A fine young man taken too soon.  We also miss Barbara Edwards, also from Basking Ridge, and also had sons playing soccer when Kevin did.  We were all connected in this small NJ suburb...and remain connected in our prayers.  Bless all of us.    Bill and Tobie

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
