Just want to convey my sympathies to the McCarthy family, I visited the memorial in march of this year and so many Irish names on the marble stone really had an impact on me and especially as I am a McCarthy I thought I would just contact the families and pass on my sincere sympathies.
May Kevin and ll those who died rest in peace.
Sincere sympathies,
Rob McCarthy

I visited the 9/11 memorial this may upon my first visit to NYC. I took a photograph of the fountain and there the only name showing in the image was one Kevin M. McCarthy. I wanted to put a face to the name, and now here I am. God Bless all of you who loves and misses him.

still remembering when you, Buddy and I went fishing together up at the rivers in pepperell. I thought I had a fishing problem, until I met you. Anyway, just wanted to say you are not forgotten, and that thoughts of you are frequent even from your long related cousins....

May the strength of God pilot us, may the wisdom of God instruct us, may the hand of God protect us, may the word of God direct us. Be always ours this day and for evermore. - St. Patrick

My thoughts and prayers on this 10th anniversary of such a cowardly act.

Dear Mr McCarthy,

In listening to your words and knowing the terrible situation you and your fellow workers faced on that fateful day, I want to say you are one of the finest heroes this country has ever produced. I cried as the building cut short your words and your life. God bless you and those you left behind.

From a peace-loving fellow American

I just want to say that I love all the McCarthys' relatives and friends, and I am so glad that I can read about how much Kevin is loved and never forgotten. I miss him every day and know that he is my guardian angel.

It's a cold day in December, and Christmas is right around the corner. I remember how much you loved this holiday, and it brings a smile to my face. Thinking of you still hurts, especially around the holidays. Until we meet again ... your little sister.

I remember the first time I met you at Ohare airport/aunt Dolly's house. You and Deb were flying back to Boston and you bought me a pretzel. I was in 6th grade at the time and now 28. I also remember house sitting for u, Deb, and the kids in Rancho Palos, CA.... also when I last saw u in April 2001 in Schaumburg, IL, when aunt Dolly moved to CT. You are thought about everyday by my family and I'm happy to say YOU inspired me to help other people.... I'm currently being hired by the Chicago fire department as a firefighter/emt. God bless you.... and buddy.

Although I didn't know you I pray for you and your family every day. Through your favorite sister Kathleen, I know your memory enlivens and comforts your family's hearts. May God's grace forever shine upon and comfort you, and may His hand always be near for your wife and children.

Hi, Kevin,

Thinking of you today. I am from Ireland and was also 42 on 9/11. I did stand at ground zero and read your name. I wonder, have you any relatives in Ireland? My email is kmccarthy (at) mbauctions (dot)ie, if anyone would wish to contact me.

God bless,

Hi Kevin.
Lots of thoughts of you this weekend. Carl, Cory and Carl SR are down the cape at Nickerson fishing. Carl thinks of you all weekend. If it weren't for you he never would have been able to share this with Cory and CJ. Love you, miss you and think of you every day.
Love, Cindy and Carl

I miss you -still- and that's ok because it allows me to take a moment of my day with happy thoughts of you. You have left me thinking that life is short and to make the best of everything I do.
(Your favorite sister) Kathy

I did not know you, but the tragedy on that day touched us all. You were taken before your time, and I will remember you and yours in my prayers. God bless and keep you.

I did not know Kevin as I'm from Liverpool, England, but I'm so moved by all the comments made from relatives and friends who knew Kevin. He must have been a great guy. I feel so sad every 9/11, can't begin to imagine the horror New York felt that awful day and the rest of the world. God bless all who lost their lives.

You're on my mind, again, and it still hurts. I see your smile, I hear your voice, and I feel your bear hugs. Until we meet again, my brother ... you're in my heart always.

Hello again. You were on my mind today as I reflect memories of you and mom conversing in the kitchen. I'm afraid Ryan has your genes. He is so passionate and argumentative, but it's his compassion that pulls on my heart strings. I often hear mom's voice coming out of my mouth, and the look Ryan gives me makes me think, "It's Kevin and Marie!" We are exchanging recipes. OK, so I lied; Ryan is teaching me to be a better cook. The rule in the house is to twist the bread and put the milk back in the refrig! I miss you so much and hate to admit I think of you every day ... still. I feel my memories of you are fading, and I try hard to remember a funny story. One thing that will not fade is your infectious smile.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
