I don't think a day goes by that we don't think of you. We have so many amazing memories. Memories that nobody will ever take away from us but we will continue to share with anyone who will listen. The world was robbed the day they took you from us. Please know that we love and miss you so very much.

Maureen, I know how much you loved him. If you want someone to talk to, I'm back home.

Oh, how I wish I coulda' known ye all! The premature loss of gentle folk we never knew hits hard at the soul of all good people around the world. You could not have known the "why" that day. They were just a bunch of penniless 'sad sacks' bent on hurting America. They conspired to destroy, without regard for life or liberty. Kevin, to you and all the heroes that we lost that day I say, enjoy the newfound peace. God bless and keep you all. We will meet on a blue sky day, by crystal waters on a sunny shore.

I just wanted to let you know that I was thinking about you and your family.

You were put on this earth to "earn" your way back. We know, as family members, that our life is a challenge and every dream we create in our mind is something we pray. God bless you, Kevin, on your anniversary, for you ARE an outstanding cousin. Memories of Cape Cod (grandmother's and our "large" family clam bakes on the beach, family get-togethers either at your mom and dad's home or ours). Memories, what an enjoyment....

I pray for you and your family every day. Your memory enlivens and comforts their hearts every day - NO ONE WILL EVER FORGET. May God's grace forever shine upon you, and may His hand always be near for your wife and children.

I just found a picture of you and a bunch of the guys at a wedding we all went to shortly after our high school graduation. I often think of those times, and I smile. Great memories of great friendships. You will never be forgotten.

Kevin, the years go by, but you are always in our thoughts and prayers.  We still shed our tears over the loss of such a wonderful son, husband, father, and brother. It was a joy to watch you tackle a plate of pasta or a meatball sub. Life has not been the same without you, but our memories of you still make us smile.

Kevin ... thinking of you today on the memorial of 9/11.

I am a friend of Kevin's sister, Kathy Sullivan. I remember Kevin as a really funny kid when I visited Kathy's home in Reading. My prayers are with his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all his family and friends.

I came upon this memorial by accident but glad I did. I am a retired NYPD Detective who worked in the Crime Scene Unit, and spent eight months working at Ground Zero. I also play bagpipes for the NYPD Pipes and Drums. I attend numerous 9/11 memorials with my band. I will keep the name of Kevin M. McCarthy in my thoughts and prayers.

I think of you every 9/11. I pray for your family often. Knowing the nice, kind person you were I know they must miss you greatly. You were a great guy with a great attitude.

Here I am again by coincidence the second day of the New Year. I was surprised this Christmas when Deborah, and your beautiful children came to visit us. You would be so proud. I still think of you every day, some with a smile and some with tears. Love you always, Your sister Kathy 1/2/06

Hearing about Kevin really made the 9/11 tragedy hit close to home.  I remember him in high school, his warm smile and great sense of humor.  His family is held in my prayers.

Kevin, I remember one of the last times we spoke you told me to cherish every moment with Madison because they go by fast.  I think of you often when she does or says something funny because I want to pick up the phone to tell you.  You bring many smiles to my face and you will remain in my heart always.  We will never forget all the wonderfaul memories we shared with you.

Love, your sister Maureen

Kevin, I miss you now more that ever and I still think of you every day. Most days are happy thoughts. I miss your beautiful smile, your funny sense of humor and most of all the way you touched all of us. You are greatly missed.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
