Yesterday I attended the 10th anniversary memorial celebration of the 9/11 tragedy in Orlando FL. On a grassy knoll near the site was a field of flags, each one with a name of a victim of the attacks. Although I had no personal connection with any of the victims, I am proud to reach out to the families of those I can, and express my deepest condolences. God Bless you all!

I grew up with Kirsten in Des Plains. We played all the time and our mothers were great friends. I have such fond memories of her. I was not surprised to hear successful she was. We lost touch over the years, but when I heard Kirsten died in the 911 attacks, I was devestated. I Think of her every anniversary and pray for her daughter.

They say God picks the most beautiful flowers for his garden. Kirsten was one lovely bloom he had to have. That leaves little comfort for the ones left behind. But knowing that she is up there, watching over everyone she loved, being a guardian angel to those she cared about, that can lift spirits when skies are gray. God bless her family. Never forget her; let her live on in your hearts. Let her kindness color everything you do. Live in her honor. Then her life was not in vain.

My wife, Lily Klinger was a dear, close, and best friend of Kirsten. In 1994, Kirsten came to Chicago to attend Lily's and my wedding. And a few years later, I remember flying to NYC with Lily to attend Kirsten's and her husband Charlie's wedding. Kirsten had asked Lily the honor of being her maid-of-honor, which Lily gladly accepted. On Sept. 1, 2001, my beloved Lily died of ovarian cancer. A week and a half later, 9/11 would claim Kirsten's life. One month before, Kirsten (knowing of Lily's terminal illness) flew to Chicago with her daughter Gretchen to visit Lily. Kirsten and Lily loved each other very much, and I believe that even after death, that love never dies and continues in Paradise. I am thankful for Kirsten's life, and of her sharing that life with so many people who knew and loved her. I will never forget her.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
