Our Church passed out names for the 10 year Memorial. Praying for your family and the others who lost loved ones on that terrible day.
God Bless

I was a member of the NYPD's Emergency Service Unit when I learned that Larry was one of many men FD lost on 9/11. Larry and I played Little League football together for the Woodside Warriors many years ago. I will never forget the best game that I ever played as a running back, scoring three touchdowns in that game. Freddy (the coach) kept calling the same play right behind Larry; they could not stop us. I'm sorry that I lost touch with him: I never said, "Thank you." But I will always remember him, the 14 ESU cops, and the rest of my friends who died on that day.

Larry,
I was just a moment watching TV..
There was a program about 9 / 11 and I saw your name at a funeral.
The bagpipes at the funeral touched me.
Sorry for my bad English, I am from Holland..
God bless you.

Larry,
I was thinking of you about a week ago, remembering back to the day my family moved from Kenya to Woodside, Queens. You can imagine it was quite a shock, but because of people like you, we were welcomed as part of the block (52nd street) and community. Your kindness and warmth will not be forgotten. I remember looking up to the older kids like you, Jimmy, Sabino, Dean, and the rest. Most of all, I will never forget the caring and gentle manner in which you treated my handicapped brother. I just wanted to thank you.
May god bless you.

Larry,
It has been quite a few years now since we were at Queens College. You knew who the good teachers were and helped me change my schedule to get them. You introduced me to your part of NY, to handball, and to genuine Italian Ice. You insisted I come hear Mario Cuomo talk. I still think of you when I open a jar of peanut butter, since stirring it was your job. I remember our bike rides in Flushing Meadows and your kindness in giving some of us rides home after evening classes.
You were a wonderfully comfortable, brotherly friend. I for one learned—and still learn—from your empathy and nonjudgmental way of considering others. I smile when I think of you, my friend. You are a bright, beautiful stroke of color on the canvas of humanity.

I am also a graduate of PMA class of 1980, and I am saddened by the lost of my classmate. But one thing I know is that he was a kind and gentle person. After learning of his tragic loss, I've come to realize that I knew at least three people lost in 9-11. The three people I knew all had one thing in common: they were selfless and would help anyone in crisis. May God bless all their souls, and in my case T I M E make us remember them....

Larry,
Four years ago, when a gifted friend of mine told me I'd have guidance from a fallen hero of 9-11 to help me on my path to a law enforcement career "back home," I was a bit confused. I didn't know anyone who'd lost their life that day. Fast forward about 2 years later, and I find your memorial card on display in my parent’s dining room. You and my father, Bill Byrne, were neighbors in Woodside. In just a few hours I'm getting on a flight to NYC and scheduled to test for the NYC PD, Sunday. After reading all the wonderful things your friends and family have to say about your jovial, giving, and heroic nature, it all makes sense. Thank you for your everlasting guidance. You've blanketed me the reassurance that I'm on the right path for my life.

To Larry:
Six years ago I attended a memorial service at Columbia (CPMC) for the victims of 9/11. During that service I thought I heard your name announced, but I didn’t want to believe that it was you. This year I watched the memorial service on TV, and I saw your picture. Still I didn’t want to believe it was true. Then I searched the internet, and I could no longer deny it was you. I’m devastated. I feel as if the tragedy just happened a few days ago. I am so sorry for you, your family, and all who knew you.
We took classes together at Queens College for three years. You were unique and special, and you expressed your individuality. I greatly admired this about you. You were kind, and I liked you very much. It's hard to believe, but when the towers fell, it had been about 10 years since I last saw you. Time seems to pass so quickly. But I had always thought I’d see you again one day. I’m so sorry to know that I won’t. What a tremendous and tragic loss. My deepest sympathies to all who knew you.

Dear Larry,
We write for all of your friends-from Fort Lee, NYC, the Hamptons (where we met at Marakesh). You were a very good looking and gentle man. Intelligent, yes, and you loved the arts. You studied ballet. We attended your performance, your Mom and Dad were there. We grew to know and love your friends from Queens, Joey and Sabino. Parties! Can't remember how many, but we do remember how fabulous they were. Your favorite song was Spank by Jimmy Bo Horn. You were supposed to marry me at our "Wedlock" party. We danced at Le Mans in the Hamptons, Summers, La Plage... You modeled, loved fashion. You studied. Became a physical therapist, and a fire fighter. An elite fire fighter. You took care of people, Larry. We want everyone to know that you were soft spoken. With all your accomplishments, you were a gentle, soft spoken person with many loves, also including cinema and the music at Lincoln Center. We think about your Mom, and your grandmother too. You were a neighborhood guy and a family guy too.
With all our love Larry, we miss you, you will always be with us, and we will always cherish our time with you, and know that it will always hurt to have lost you,
Maureen and Terre Considine

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
