Wow...I am so proud of Leroy and I am also just finding out that the pilot of United 93 was an African American man. Why is that important you might ask? Because this is apart of OUR Black History. A Black Pilot who was an American who gave his life for all us Americans. The least we as Americans can do is acknowledge who is...a black man who was the real pilot of United 93 and not a white man. I do want to say God Bless Leroy and his family and thank you all for your sacrifice.

I am proud to have been chosen to represent LeRoy for the
10th anniversary of 911. A young lady from Spring Lake nj
asked anyone from the state of nj to wear a red, white and
blue bracelet in honor of a nj hero of 911. She started "Common Threads". All of us that are wearing this bracelet
will be donating money for the "Empty Sky Memorial" at Liberty
Park. It is an honor to wear this bracelet because HE TRULY
WAS A HERO FOR ALL AMERICANS. I will never take it off!

I collected the name Leroy Homer from a prayer tree shortly after 9-11. I have prayed often for his family. I am thinking of all today. The card is still on my board, and I'm still praying for you all. God bless you.

I am an Australian woman who feels so incredibly proud of this young man. The actions of those brave passengers on Flight 93 was the beginning of a long fight to protect out Freedom. God bless LeRoy Homer.

Thank you, Leroy Homer, for your sacrifice on 9-11. I, too, just heard about him during a Black History Moment on the local TV station. After all these years, it is such a shame that we didn't know.

A commercial during NCIS on CBS was shown this past Tuesday, honoring Leroy Homer as an American Hero. I'd never heard of him — like many have not heard of other great Americans (like Gloria Richardson) as we honor those who dedicate their lives to improving our nation.

Thank you, Mr. Homer, for the sacrifice of your life. Your nation appreciates your dedication to freedom for all.

As I researched black history for our church youth Black History Month presentations, I came across Leroy Homer's heroic deeds on United Airlines Flight 93. I could not believe my eyes. Why eleven years later am I just learning about this great man and what he did on behalf of others? I immediately chose him as one of our honorees. I plan to sing his praises whenever the opportunity arises.

I believe that their are many black Americans like me who are unaware of Leroy Homer's contribution to black history and history in general. Even though the story is one of tragedy, yet out of it comes hope that some young black person will aspire to become a pilot and to become a great black American and to pass his knowledge on to help others, just as officer Leroy Homer did. We thank GOD for his life and legacy. God bless his family and keep them in his care.

Mr. Homer,

It's been 9 years as of today since your life was stolen from you by those cowards, but your soul still remains. God bless you and your family, as well as every innocent decent person who was just trying to provide for their family. You will never be forgotten.

I am having my students read about Mr. Homer. It is only a small token of my appreciation for his sacrifice. It is important that we not forget.

I flew with Capt LeRoy Homer on several C-141 cargo plane missions while we were stationed at McGuire AFB, NJ. He was always very professional, the best the Air Force had. God bless his family, and may his memory be one of pride for us all!

God bless you, Leroy, your memory lives on.

I don't know this person, and now I never will. But I bet this woman was a great person. I am 13 years old and doing a project on this attack because my teacher had a friend die in the crashes. So I wish you all best of luck, and I really am sorry for your loss!

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
