Leslie, I did not know you but I knew and know your father well, He is so proud of you and your family, and we are all significantly diminished and lessened by what happened that terrible day and will never be forgotten...you and your family are together forever but I cannot help but grieve for what was taken from the people who were graced by knowing you and them in this reality. One day we will all be reunited, as He lifts our life from the pit, our Lord our God, we will see you then.

Dear Leslie,

I did not know you, but someone in my family knew your family very well. Every year I dedicate this day to the memory of you and your family, Charlie, Dana, and Zoe Falkenberg.

Hi, Mama Leslie,

Thanks for taking care of us, just like you always have. I love you and miss you.

Love,
Kate

Dear Leslie, we didn't know one another, but your mom and dad (G.K.) have meant a great deal to me before and since that terrible day. Their courage and ability to move through each day with a commitment to peace and justice have influenced me deeply as I wonder how they and so many others can find meaning and purpose after such unimaginable loss. Their love for you, Zoe, Dana and Charles will never die - and will always be a reminder to all of us who care about them. You are remembered - even by people whom you didn't know.

I wear a prayer bracelet with remembrance of Ms. Whittington. I choose her name to be engraved because she was a remarkable person. I look at it to remind myself that life can be short. Leslie made a difference and I am inspired to make differences each day. A good deed no matter how small is still a great deed in somebody's life.
May God Bless the World - Love those even that hate you.

I did not know Leslie. A co-worker's granddaughter made bracelets of all vicitms of Flight 77 and I took hers to remember and pray for her family. I understand her husband and 2 daughters were on the flight with her and all perished. I found my bracelet today (I had placed it in a drawer) and began a search (again) for her. The bracelet still stands (for me) a good reminder to remember to pray for the family left behind (and still grieving). God bless.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
