I grew up around the corner from the Weinsteins in Brooklyn. Me and my siblings were pretty much the same age as her and her brothers.

I remember working with Lisa at La Mer Caterers on Ocean Parkway when I was in Jr High and High School. She always had a great attitude. I remember once at the catering hall she had a tray of chicken fingers, and she said in her best southern accent "Y'awl like some Southern Fried Chicken."

Years later I remember seeing her with her kids at Adelman's Deli on Kings highway and it was nice catching up.

I was very sad to hear what happened to her. She was a nice person.

All this time I never new, I was just talking about you the other day saying how you were such a great part of my life, my first steady girlfriend. Over 3 years we were together and I loved every minute of it. So many of my teenage memories are of us, riding you home on the back of my bike (to young to drive yet), going to all those great concerts, playing pinball at Buddy's, and just hanging at your house or mine. You also threw me my best birthday party ever, a great Halloween surprise party my friends and I still talk about till this day. Your mom and dad were always great to me and your brothers were such cool kids. I did not know you were there that fateful day, I only just today was searching the web for you to see what you were up to and found out. I always hoped we would cross paths again someday. Gloria and Stanley my heart goes out to you and the family. God bless.

I knew Lisa when she 15 and she made a suprise party for her boyfriend, Jeff. She made every day fun.

Lisa was my sister-in-law and the first in her family to reach out and assure me that I was welcome. That quality was an important aspect of the sort of person she was--always on the lookout for what would help others to feel included and at home.

Lisa truly bubbled over with enthusiasm, spontaneity and a child-like curiosity and wonder.

One of my favorite photographs of us together was taken in front of a hotel fireplace. Lisa's mom said before she snapped the photo, "I can't see the fire with all of you in front of it." Simultaneously, without cuing each other, Lisa and I bowed our legs widely with big grins on both our faces.

Tomorrow would have been your 39th birthday, Lisa. I love and miss you deeply.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
