Lisa - I met with you for an interview at Cantor in March of 2001. I was immediately smitten with you, when you walked into the room the place just lit up. Your beautiful face, infectious smile and down to earth rapport made me feel at ease. ( I have to admit I had a crush). Even though I had only met you once, and only briefly I never forgot about you, and to this day think about you often.
Peace and Love

The tenth eleventh:
Double torricide --
Two little girls,
Lying side by side --
A hapax legomenon
Of a phenomenon:
They are uneyed
Who have not cried.

I am a documentary photographer and was photographing the photographs of the missing and pleadings for information for lost loved ones outside the Bellevue hospital and came across the poster seeking Samantha and Lisa, and it just tore me up. It still does. I made a print for my daughter tonight and included it in a book, "War is Personal" by Eugene Richards, whom I was shooting with that terrible day.

Love to both girls and their parents and friends. I am so sorry, still. Time does not erase the sorrow.

When you lived here in Florida, you were my first friend, and I will never forget the good times together. We love and miss you.

In Memoriam

      For Lisa Egan

Strange how a smile will linger,
Long after towers have fled --
How the heart's gayest garlands still ring her
And a life once dreamed, never led.
  Disremembrance may an age embrace
In the wanton of its unfold --
Were such a glow as hers to illuminate Alsace,
Who would deign to regard Eiffel's scaffold?

Lisa,

2007. I haven't forgotten. You're beautiful, and I'm sure very greatly missed.

Hey Lisa, I still can not wrap my mind around it.

Thank you for your beautiful thoughts, but I wanted you to know that Lisa and Samantha did NOT jump from the building.

Lisa, I still think of you and miss your smile. I have nightmares knowing that you and Samantha jumped together from 102 flights up. I hope that heaven is treating you well and that both of you are at peace. I don't know that I will ever be.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
