Ellen and Neil,

I met you Ellen because of the goodwill and flea market. One day while you an Neil were out for a drive in Londonderry. He was a very sweet soul. I know what an affect this has had on your lives. My prayers are always with you and your families.

Andrea

To Ellen. I had the opportunity to meet you and Louis at your yard sale. You were having that weekend before to raise money to go on that long overdue vacation. Neil, You are not, and never will be forgotten. Ellen, you both were very sweet people and it was a joy to be able to spend time with you both and talk to you. May God Bless you Ellen, your family, for this great loss. Rest in Peace Louis

Neil Mariani was one of the first guys I met when I came to work for HP Hood in Charlestown. Having worked in Portland, ME, I really didn't know anyone at our Boston operations, and he made me feel so welcome. He was always there when I backed in to unload the empty case at the 570 building. I really enjoyed his friendship.

Neil was my uncle. The last time I got to see him was when I was like 10 years old. I'm 16 now and I still remember him 'cuz of all the stuff he did for me, and he was like my best friend. Now he is gone, and I pray every night for him, and I miss him like crazy. I wish he could see what I write. I know he can't, but I still think of him, and I'll never stop thinking about him.

Neil as I called him was a very kind dear man. I had the privilage to work close to or alongside Neil for 5 years in the Hood company. As a new imigrant it was through Neil that I learned of the passion for the Red Sox in New England. But the truth is I learned alot more from Neil than that, too much to mention here.I will always remember his laugh, and his tireless work. He was a great man and I often think of him and always remember his very kind and generous spirit

Dear Ellen, I cannot even in my wildest imagination can feel what your are feeling during these times.  My heart
and prayers go out to you.  My prayer is that you keep up your courage up and continue to move forward.  The truth is coming out as each day passes.  Although nothing can replace the loss of a loved one I believe what is being exposed will help many others.  In peace, Elaine

You Neil were my best friend. Your passing has left the biggest hole in my heart. I will always have the memories of our last ride together to Boston Logan Airport on that Sept 11, 2001. I miss you more as time goes on. You will never be forgotton, you were my everything. I now look at our wedding pictures of July 30, 1988 and think you Neil died on the very soil you served, for four years in U.S. A.F. Till we meet once again, please watch over me, love your earthy wife and soul mate, Ellen Mariani

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
