My husband and I are riding in the Americas 911 Ride this weekend. We are leaving tomorrow and should be packing! Instead, I needed to know who was Michael K. Healey? We were all given a card with the name of someone that was killed on that day, 09-11-01. My husband was given the name of Michael K. Healey. We needed to know who he was, what was he doing there, who did he love and leave behind. We found this site while searching. We wanted you to know that we have not forgotten your hero.

I grew up with Mike in Massapequa Park, NY. We met when we were 5 years old and grew up on Grand Blvd. We were best friends ... so many wonderful memories and way too many to count.... With the onset of adulthood, I moved away, and we eventually lost touch for a while. However, the bonds of a childhood created by fantastic memories will never be broken. Mike was a true blue friend. He was adventurous and had a great sense of humor, but most of all, he possessed a heart of gold. Not a day goes by that I don't think of Mike, and I hope Theresa and his family are living strong in the memory of a true American hero.... Love ya like a brother, Mike. God bless you.

We spent 3 years as Michael and his family's neighbors, and we became great friends. He and his family were one of the nicest families we have ever known. I became his best friend, and he got me involved in running. I think of him every time I lace up. Our prayers and thoughts go out to his lovely wife, Theresa, and his children.

I use to rent an apartment from Michael and his wife.  They were really great people. He was a great guy. I watched their dog while they went on vacations.  I hope all is well with the family.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
