Vinnie was my classmate in high school. He was a bright light, a fun guy, always smiling. Love and prayers to his family. Peace.

I had the pleasure of meeting Viiny in High School, Saint Francis Prep. He was a wonderful guy. He never had a bad word to say about anyone and made me laugh so often. We loss touch after high school but I had thought about him often. He is greatly missed by many....Peace be with you my friend.

Vinny we had some fun times in high school. In particular as members of the SFP soccer team and as co-managers of the SFP baseball team. You were a character, sorry we fell out of touch after high school. I will always remeber your laugh and positive attitude. Peace to you, my friend.

I think of you and your beautiful family every year on September 11th. I also pull out my copy of Real Simple from September 2002, reread the article featuring your wife and children, cry and say a prayer. Thank you for your sacrifice!

To Marie and family - your grandfather Joe and my father were boyscout friends in Flushing and friends for 60+ years. Our families got together for picnics. Knowing Vinny had Joe and Alice (still friends with my mom) as role models, he could be nothing but a giving, loving and strong person. He is a role model for his children and missed by many. We will never forget and love to you and your family Marie.

I never had the honor of knowing Lt. Halloran. I was a red cross worker at ground zero Sept thru December and worked with many of his colleagues. For the last 10 years I have a t-shirt that I put on once a year. I am wearing it today, as I type this email. It is an FDNY Ladder 8 Tribeca T-shirt in loving memory of Lt. Vinny Halloran. To his family, friends and colleagues - he will never be forgotten, and is remembered too by this New Yorker. God Bless.

Like others who have posted, I read about your family in Real Simple and think of all of you every Sept. 11. I wonder how you are doing now and pray for you.

Tomorrow in Kansas City my son will be climbing 110 stories in honor of Lt. Vincent Halloran and all of the other 342 firemen who died on 9/11/01. Lt. Halloran sounds like he was an exceptional man who loved his family, his job and his country very much. He will be in our thoughts and prayers tomorrow, along with his family and friends.

To the Halloran family,

My thoughts and prayers have been with you for years! I remember reading the story of your family in "Real Simple Magazine" in 2001. Then, a follow-up story 5 years later. I saved the articles and think and pray for your family often. You are an inspiration to us all to live better, be happy and love more. Thank you and may God bless you all!

I live across the street from Vinny's mom. Vinny's sister Pat babysat me when I was a kid. I still see his mother all the time. My heart breaks for what she has gone through, as well as what Vinny wife and kids have to go through. My thoughts and prayers are with you today and always.

To the Halloran family:

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

I'm his son, and not a day goes by without me thinking of him. And now I heard you talking about my brother Kieran, and you say how he always smiles, but now he barely smiles. I miss my dad very much, and I thank the person that made this website for reminding me.

I am a 14-year-old teen who got this name in school on  9-11. I was interested and kept this name, hoping to find something online about him. When I saw this website, I decided to write a comment. I feel that the 9-11 victims did so much for us. I just wanted to thank the family and say that he is great to go and do what he did. God does all things for a reason and he puts things to do in peoples' hearts for a reason also. May God bless.

Kiernan Halloran, Vincent's son, is my classmate and friend. Not a day goes by that I don't see Kiernan's smiling face at school. That sort of thing makes me proud that he is that strong. It truly is a blessing that they can be so strong, and my heart reaches out to Vincent's family. May God bless you.

My son, who survived 9/11, was a probie in Lt Halloran's company. Jim was with him on 9/11. Together they witnessed the first plane hit and they entered the tower together. My son respected Lt Halloran as a FDNY lieutenant and liked him as a man. Lt Halloran is missed and will not be forgotten.

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site.
