DUDE, IT'S MARCH 2008! WEATHER IS NOT WARM UP HERE IN THE NYC (but I guess you know this?). I miss you so much even 2 this day, dude! Miss you hang'n at Orchard Beach with your fitness finesse! Manny, just know that when I shed a tear in regards to 9/11, your valor, strength, and brotherly love for the what you believed is still alive in me, friend! Gotta stop now. Just wanted to let you know that your being will never be 4gotten while i'm still on this "earth"; I still talk about you as if you 4got 2 "hang with me" yesterday!

Manny was introduced to me by a group of my close college friends from the Boston area. When I met him, I felt like I had known him for years. We hung out a little in NY, and I still regret not being able to go on that Miami trip with him and those friends...but I'll never forget his smiling and laughing face in those pictures from Miami. Manny was the kind of person who elevated all those around him. I was crushed to see his picture in the paper along with so many who sacrificed so much that week. His positive energy and strength of spirit, while sorely missed, lives on in all those who knew him. One Love Manny.

Manuel, my dear friend, you are missed an enormous amount.... But I know you are in good hands as you watch over all of us who love you SO! I need to say how very honored I am to be your friend. You are the most selfless person I know and extremely brave to give of yourself in such a moment, on such a day.... I will forever hold you close to me.... Your boy for life!

I am deeply sorry for your loss. He was a brave man. He died doing what he loved, as I was told by a loving and dear friend of his.

Manny was my hangin' buddy at the mall in high school in Boston. We used to just chill! Peace to one cool cat who embodies the meaning of service to fellow human beings.

I knew Manny only a short time, but being around him, I felt like I knew him for years. I met Manny shortly after I moved to NYC in 1999, and he was the only one I considered a real down-to-earth friend. Every time I was going through something negative, he'd always say something like, "Don't lose your composure. Stick it out with your head high." I'll never forget that. Composure, composure, he would always bring that up. I only knew him a short time, but his presence, his good vibes, and his voice will always have a lasting imprint on me. He defined the value, loyalty, of the word "FRIEND". PEACE, BROTHA. 9/11/2007 Carlos77arce@aol.com

Manny, there are so many times over the years that I remembered your smile, your kind words of encouragement, the friendship we were able to share for so many years. You are missed so much.

Meeting Manny was falling in love with him.  He was handsome, smart and witty...a great sense of humor and a smile that lit the world...I will always treasure my moments with him....not for just an hour...not for just a day...not for just a year...but, always....I will love and miss him always......

Manny was my cousin and my good friend. He was a wonderful, charismatic, handsome and funny young man.  He was a firefighter with Engine Co. 5.  He went into Tower 1 w/ his firefighter brothers and never came home to us.  We will never see him again.  We will never hear his voice again.  We will never hug and kiss him again.  We are riddled with grief.  Our hearts are so heavy.  We think of Manny every single day.  He will never be forgotten.

We love you, Manolito.  Until we meet again.
Your cousin,
Eileen

Manny was the individual in a group that was the voice of reason, he was the one to lighten up a situation, he had the ability to change another person's mood for the better. When he introduced me to his family, I felt like family. He was my friend.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
