Marchello,
I rememeber when your mom would ask me to watch you and Bruno when she would go to the store. You always played the piano for me. I rememeber it was more like coming over to play than to watch you. I was so saddened to hear you were gone. I moved from Jackson Heights over 20 years ago but was back there recently. I saw your name on the street sign and just sat in my car and cried. I know you are missed by many but know that you will never be forgotten.

Hey Marcello, I know I am a day late.... but I figured you and your family wouldn't mind since I was attending 911 memorials..... I hope with each year, the passing gets a little easier, the pain hurts a little less and your memory burns a little brighter.... I never thought meeting you in freshman class would have me thinking of you so much..... God bless your family and I know you are looking down... In my line of work... I need all the angels I can get.... see you soon... James

Dear Bruno and Family
My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family. When I found out about Marcello there was no why for me to reach out to you and your family. I just googled his name and found this web page. Marcello was a really good and kind friend there is not a day that I do not think about him. Every time I hear his name called my hairs on my arms stand up. Hoping that he is still lost somewhere out there trying to find his why home. I am so sorry Love Jeanette, Diana, and My son Adam :(

Hi Marcello,
I think of you and Rosie and Nicholas very often. I hope you are resting in peace and forever watching over Rosie and Nicholas. However long, it was a pleasure meeting you and Rosie and being part of your lives.

I was Marcello's next door neighbor in Jackson Heights. Although I just now heard of his passing from a friend who grew up with us on 75th Street, I felt compelled to share my memories. I will always remember Marcello as a kind, gentle, and caring soul. I remember him playing Chopsticks on the piano and could hear it resonate from his house to ours on a summer’s day. He was so patient with me when I desperately wanted to play sports with the "boys." He taught me how to not be afraid of the ball and how to hold a baseball bat. I was at least 4 or 5 years his junior (and the only girl on the block), but he always had an encouraging word for me.
I am so sorry for your loss. I remember you all so vividly in my mind's eye. His soul was one that was too good for this world. He will always be remembered by me with great fondness.

Wow, I can't believe so much time has passed. I still look back fondly on those memories we had DJing with Jerry. It seems like yesterday that I could hear you MC and how you always had to be the first at the ice cream bar! You always were so much fun to be around. I remember how proud you were to be a dad and how much you loved your family. You will forever be in my heart. You are gone but not forgotten.

What a ritual that we all take for granted... being to say I love you... and I will miss you when you are gone! I love all the people who are placed in our lives... now during the good times... and... for the tough times... to get us through... and just to say "I LOVE YOU!"
Thank you Rosie, for being in our lives... I know ~ I am so lucky to know you and your sweet little family!''
Love,
Christine

To My Love...
5 years have gone by and so much has happened... Nicholas is 9 and he has a little sister, Samantha who is 2 years old. He is very happy but still misses you dearly as do I. I keep reading all of these wonderful stories that people share on these sites and as I sit here reading them, I smile but at the same time I am sad because I realize that I am no longer going to hear your laughter or your silly comments. I look at Nicholas and I can see your face. It's amazing how he makes a lot of those silly faces that you made which made me laugh. I know that you are alive in him which is why when I hug him, I hug him extra hard in hopes that you can feel it. Poor little guy, he always says "Mom, I can't breathe" :-) He's such a good boy.... You would be so proud.... As you know, I have a new family and I am very happy to have been able to give that to Nicholas.... My heart still aches for you and I will forever miss you and hold you dear in my heart.... I love you.... Until we meet again...

Marcello Matricciano: Letter To My Wife
For Rosie
A s always, the day was predictable
N othing out of the ordinary
D ear, except maybe the beauty of a prelude.
T ell me something, is not it a glorious morning?
H ummingbirds illuminating the skies and
E xtremity not in sight?
H ow, oh how I long to run home. To the
O rnaments of my life.
M y wife, my son, my family and friends.
E idolons oh eidolons to be.
O h, if only fate had been gentle and what
F ell from the skies was rain.
T o my wife, to my son, in your humble
H earts for eternity I'll be.
E den awaits me and by the sea I'll be free.
B e strong my beloved ones
R ise above sorrow
A nd the evilness of men. For God built a
V alhalla for my saviors and for my soul
E verlasting bliss.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
