Bought some vintage Culver glassware. Upon researching it
was made aware of Mr. Rothenberg being on this flight. It will make the use and passing down of them even more special.        Rest In Peace

Mickey and I grew up together. We were friends throughout elementary, junior and high school in Brooklyn. I only found out about his passing about a year after 9/11. As it turned out his travel agent and I were very close and it was she who mentioned that a client of hers was on that flight. It was Mickey. I was stunned and struck by the knowledge and immediately my mind went back to the days and years we knew each other. Mickey was a great guy and friend and I want his family to know that I too will always remember and think of him. May he rest in peace.

mark/mickey: I fondly remember visits to brooklyn with your mom (dottie) and dad (irv), accompanied by my parents (dick and audrey) and my brother (spencer), also with uncle milty and aunt estelle (in later years), had a fabulous time at your wedding when you married meredith, wishing you and your family (your 2 daughters) - the rothenberg clan - only good things and happiness in the years to come, I know that all of you who have left this earth - including my grandparents paulie and johnnie are now in heaven having a grand old time, missing you very much, your cousin felice

Hi, I did not know Mark personally, but I just found out that he lived next door to me on East 18th St in Brooklyn and that he also went to Madison. I will never forget that fateful day and all those who lost their lives needlessly. May they all rest in peace.

2010 here we are.
Another year.
Asking ourselves why.
I pray for the victim Mark Mickey Rothenberg. I cry for him.
Thinking this man was JUST early fifties young older adult
NOT READY YET TO DIE.
Was not FAIR!
I feel for him SO MUCH.
RIP
I pray for the victims all of them as here we are 2010.
Another year, as our inexplainable agony/ache/inside pain does not lessen, I cry each time I watch the 9/11 show as on tonight ALL NIGHT channel history and GREEN channel on Comcast in Cranford/Linden, NJ, area. RIP MARK. You're always REMEMBERED.

As their souls are just resting forever............ in heaven above. I go back to watch all the specials and cry and smile, knowing the Flight 193 tried to take the plane over and I do wish for peace for the victim families, as I pray for you all.
Adios. Bye now.....

RIP victims of Flight 193 and all others that were lost by such faceless cowards. America, we shall continue to come together and fight such terroristic acts so the ones who so innocently TOO SOON perished shall not be in vain. RIP.

I just saw the movie, "The Flight that Fought Back," and was touched and saddened all over again, as if 9/11 was just yesterday. I did not know Mark personally, but I have just come to learn that he was from Scotch Plains, my hometown. I just wanted to say to Mark's family and friends that I am so sorry, and I am hoping that time is helping to ease the pain of those deep, unending wounds. The courage shown by the passengers and crew of Flight 93 is something for us all as Americans to be proud of. As we're coming up on the 7th-year anniversary, I will keep Mark, his loved ones, and all the individuals who died and who have lost loved ones on that horrible day in my prayers. God bless you all.

For over three years I kept Mark's name near me while I worked. I selected it randomly so that a stranger could pray for him and remember his life. My condolences to his family.

I went to Franklin & Marshall College too, and anyone who knows the F&M community knows how close it is. We are always sorry to lose one of our family, but all people everywhere are always sorry to lose a good person at any time.

Mark, or Brooklyn as we called him in college, was a good friend. He was my bridge partner in college and afterwards. He had a great sense of humor and always had a smile. We spent many, many hours together at college, playing cards, going to Maria's for late night subs, or just talking. He was an usher at my wedding. We stayed in intermittent contact after our college days, but spoke several times a year.

I can think of so many funny things we experienced together at college that I can't help but smile. I think about him often and can only imagine the pain that Meredith and his family have edured.

I didn't know Mark, or any of the victims, but I'm sure he's just as missed as the others and I'm sure his life meant just as much. I know my heart still aches for all of them. May God bless him and his family.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
