Today at my church I chose a bracelet with a picture of a beautiful young woman that was a victim of terror on 9-11. I read her name and then her age of 31 at the time of her death. Tears filled my eyes as I realized that she was the same age as my daughter, who is now 41, and as I thought of the mother who must still be grieving for Marni and the loss of all that her future would have held for her. My thoughts and prayers are with that family tonight.

Marni and I were good friends in PS 41 while we were young kids. Marni helped me with my math homework for many years, and always was patient and kind, and such a great friend. I will never forget her generous spirit, her sense of humor and her special smile. The world missed you, Marni. My prayers are with your family.

Thinking of you and your family today.

Marni, I've thought about you all week. I miss you, and I'll never forget your kindness, your compassion, your wit and extraordinary sense of humor. I never got to meet you face to face, but only through the Rick Springfield groups. My thoughts and prayers go out to your husband and family today. Rest in Peace, Marni.

Marni was a tremendously smart, kind, caring, compassionate, witty, and all-around sweet person. The Rick community isn't as shiny a place without you. We love and miss you, Marni.

Last evening I saw a sunset so beautiful instantly my thoughts turned to you. I miss you my friend.

Becca.

I understand the loss of your loved ones. No one deserved to die this way. This is our country and this is your and our sacred ground, our loved ones should be remembered always and not the terrorists who want to build a mask there. May God bless and comfort you, and protect our country from these people who have no compassion - if they did they would compromise and move their mask to other grounds.

Class pictures surfaced on Facebook from Marni's classmates of PS 41 in Bayside, Queens. Some knew of her passing, some did not. This triggered many comments of sadness but also many fond memories of how smart, funny, and mature beyond her years she was. She will not be forgotten.

I knew Marni professionally. She was a very clever, very nice person. I'm sure she would collapse laughing if she knew that the last few postings were about Rick Springfield.

I think of Marni often. Even though I never met her in person, her posts to the Rick Springfield fan club list were so imaginative and funny that I always chuckle. My favorite story of hers was about how Rick would play a concert in her apartment. :-) She is missed even all these years later.

I did not know Marni personally, but through her posts and comments on Rick Springfield boards. Her love of life, her husband, and Rick was obvious. I think of her often as the anniversary of the terrible day approaches and now as I prepare to go on a fan cruise with Rick Springfield. I believe she would be joining us if she were here. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. May she rest in peace.

My wife (Maryann) and I named our daughter after Marni. Our Marni is now a precocious 4-year-old, and is turning out to be just like her namesake: smart and sassy. RIP, Marni.

Marni and I met on a Rick Springfield message board, and six years later I can still remember how hard she made me laugh. Funny and brilliant, it still hurts to think that's she's gone. Even though it's not a RS song, I still think it applies to this incredible woman (lyrics changed):

And I've been knocking
But no one answers
And I've been knocking
Most of the day
Oh, and I've been calling
Hey, hey, Marni
Can't you come out and play?

--Elton John

Hope you're safe in love, sweet girl.

I never had a chance to meet Marni in person, but I felt like she was a friend. We shared an admiration and adoration of Rick Springfield. Her stories and concert reviews were wonderful. To say she was an excellent writer would be and understatement. She had a way of grabbing your attention and really making you feel what she wrote. I used to look forward to reading her posts to the fan club site. I miss her words; I miss her.

I think about Marni often with the anniversary of her horrific murder here. I hope her family has found some comfort in knowing just how many lives she touched in her short life. They are in my thoughts and prayers.

I didn't get to know Marni, but have heard great things about her through the Rick Springfield groups in which she belonged to. I joined the lists in 2003. I burst out in tears everytime I read something about Marni. She's a angel in Heaven now :-)

I am thinking of you on this day, and how wonderful it was when I knew you 5 years ago. You are not forgotton.

Marni had a remarkable sense of humor. She was a great story teller and her imaginative musings on life always made you smile. I will remember her and try to emulate her based on the three things she loved the most- Family, friends, and life. We miss you Marni!

I never met Marni but her spirit, her sense of humor and her giving to others are apparent in my world. I know her through the Rick Springfield fan club (Rick's loyal supporters at that time). Sharing admiration of a special performer gives me a bond to Marni, a beautiful person. Those who have met her personally have wonderful funny stories about Marni. Her memory will always be a blessing. May she rest in peace knowing her "soul" lives on with so many who knew her.
