Martin was a graduate of the Mahwah High School Class of 1990. To remember him on the tenth anniversary of his tragic death, we are planting a tree in our courtyard in his honor.

Our Catholic parish has built a memorial in honor of all the heroes on that tragic day. We as a parish have placed 3000 flags in remembrance of these people. Each one of us has been given a name to place on their flag in honor of this person, and mine was Martin Worthley. I want his family to know that he will be remembered by our family.

Martin,

You were a colleague and a really good friend to me always. I think about you and your dad Mike so often. I hope your family is okay, and I know how close you all were. I worked first with your dad, then I had the privilege of watching you grow up around foreign exchange, only to train you in money markets later. You were an angel on earth, so I am sure God needed you for some really special reason. I miss you, my friend.

I remember Martin from when we were kids. Our families hung out together. I will always remember the good times our families had together. I am very sorry for his loss.

I Remember Martin's laughter and kindness.  He was good to everyone he came in contact with.  He graduated MHS with me and I got to spend time with him in track.  He was a great athlete and person.  His spirit will live on forever.
Miss you Martin.

I remember Martin as a young boy on Emker Terrace in Ridgewood where we were next door neighbors. Martin was a very active, intelligent child  and was destined for a wonderful future. I loved his  British accent and watching him adjust to suburban life in NJ. I heard just yesterday of his loss on September 11. I'm so very sorry.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
