To the Hague Family and Friends,
My deepest apologies go out to your family! I am a Parkersburg, WV resident currently serving in the military and I had a quick message for the family of MARY LOU HAGUE. We are making some serious headway in the war on terrorism, I know initially a lot of people disagree with this war but I feel strongly that it is for a just cause. And I also know that this, initially, may not ease your pain but as GOD is my witness I have/will defeat terrorists wherever I face them and make sure that something like this never happens again. Ever time I deploy overseas, and while I am training here at home, I keep a picture of MARY LOU and a few others in my helmet and under my body armor so to remember the losses we have suffered at the cost of arrogance. I will do everything I can to rid the world of this problem even if it is at the cost of my own life, this you have my word.

Mary Lou was a gift to all that knew her, whether her close friends and family or those who knew her only briefly. She is dearly missed.

I only knew Mary Lou briefly when she worked at Governors Club near Chapel Hill, NC back in 2000. When I heard that she was one of the ones that died that tragic day, my heart truly broke down. We will say a kind prayer and always remember her.

Wow!

It's been 5 yrs. since Mary Lou's passing but her memory sticks with me as this anniversary approaches. I never knew that as I stared up at the WTC from Battery Park just blocks away on 9/11 that I was witnessing something so personal, tragic, and close to my Carolina world.

I was Mary-Lou's classmate and friend in the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC-Chapel Hill and I later went on to work on Wall St. myself and become the Season 1 finalist of Donald Trump's Apprentice.

I share my thoughts to let all of you know that although I hadn't seen Mary Lou in the years leading up to 9/11, our worlds were so close, yet so far on that fateful day. I never knew she worked in the towers just blocks away from my Water St. office.

She was, is, and will always be a sweetheart!

May God continue to shine his light upon your spirit Mary Lou,

Somehow, I hope this message gets to Mary Lou's sister, Diane. I worked in the same Bank with Diane many years ago in Washington, D.C. and have lost contact with her. I was shocked when I heard her voice and saw her on t.v. this past September reading names of the vicitms in New York.  I instantly recognized Diane, and remembered hearing that siblings would be at the Memorial this year reading the names of those who were lost. My husband and I wanted to let Diane know how very sorry we were to hear of her family's loss...If Mary Lou were anything like Diane, I am sure she was a very special and beautiful person. There's not a day that goes by that we all don't think of that terrible day and the beautiful people we lost...Our deepest sympathy, Diane. Mary DeFrance and family....

I never met Mary Lou, I helped make the robes with a memorial stamped with love in the collar.  I looked up your name on here so that the people I work with and myself would know who we were making the robes in memory of.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends...07-29-05

I have known Mary Lou since she was a baby. I used to carry her around on my hip like she was my baby. I was only in grade school when they first moved to my neighborhood. I was a neighbor to the Hagues and was, and still is, close to her sister Diane. She was a beautiful child, and even when I would see her grown up (which wasn't often) I couldn't help but remember her as a child and joke with her about the things she did. This loss has had a huge impact on my life and I will never forget her. My heart goes out to her entire family and friends! She will definitely be missed!

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
