I am the father of Mauricio Gonzalez. He is my son and the driving force of my life. Moe, I miss you very very much. I treasure the memories we had together. I miss those bonding moments we used to have from playing pool table to spending time together in almost everything we do. The 9/11 tragedy left a big hole in my heart. I am trying to fill that hole with the memories you left behind. That is all I have now and I will forever treasure for as long as I live. May you rest in peace.I MISS YOU VERY MUCH!

Bye MOE.
[Ed. - I had the pleasure to know Mauricio through my brothers. He was a happy and very friendly boy. My children were little then and came to love him as time passed. We miss him. I didn't think that it would affect us so when he left the world. I remember a day when I left with mishijos. I was carrying them by hand to my son, Ian, when suddenly someone snatched them out of my hand. I started shouting. On turning around, I saw it was him laughing. I got mad for the moment, but I couldn't stay mad for long because, with his smile, he said it all. We miss you, and sometimes I shed tears remembering you because I think, "Why?" I am always going to have that question until the day I die. May God keep you in his glory. Don't forget about us. Take care of us from where you are. See you soon. Take care of your brother—I know that you know who I'm talking about. You know how much he suffered at your departure.]

Growing up, I never realized how much importance you brought to this family. Never would I have ever thought you would be gone one day, but I still think of you as with us because, through your actions, no one forgets you and you have reflected off of so many of us. All the ones I love remind me of you because you touched them in a certain way. I will always remember you as the angel who walked the earth near me. I feel content because I know I'll see you someday.... I love you.... I miss you always.

I just want to say you are remembered! My English class is reading a poem called "The Names" by Billy Collins. The poem made me sad and made me think about the lost loved ones! May god bless you always.

Mauricio,
It has been six long years since you were taken from your family, friends, and all those who loved you so. I still think about you each and every day, wondering what you would think about all that transpired on that fateful day! Brother, you are always in my prayers and forever in my thoughts. You'll never ever be forgotten! God bless and hold you ever so close in His tender embrace, until we are all together in paradise!

Moe was one of the most interesting people I know. He was so motivated and driven to accomplish the goals he set for himself and I think he accomplished so much in his short time here on earth. He was intelligent and had a great sense of humor, I really miss talking to him. He was an inspiration and made an impact on me that I will never forget him.
Moe,
You were one of a kind and you are missed deeply, but you will never be forgotten. I pray for you and your family, may God bless you all. Until we meet again, you'll be in my thoughts and in my heart always.
Love, Laurie

Till this day I could've never thought I actually knew someone who was made an angel on that god-awful day, I met a girl in 1997 who was best friends with Evan, through them I met Moe. He was very instrumental in providing me guidance to be very close to this extraordinary girl. He had a wonderful personality, charm, a great smile, he was honest, and above all he had a good heart.
For the short time we'd known each other I knew Evan had someone special, may god bless your family, friends and the beautiful baby you and Evan have. I know you will look down on them from time to time.

To honor those who lost their lives on 9/11, several thousand bloggers from around the world are each writing a tribute to a single victim. As of now, all will have tributes. I'm honored to write a tribute to Mauricio to celebrate his life and learn more about him. If any of his friends or family would like to assist (this is the closest to his family that I've gotten) I would be deeply grateful.
Thank you,
Dana

Mauricio aka "MOE JIGGY" was my only brother. God couldn't have blessed me more by giving me 21 wonderful years of interacting with him. Those who know him, know he was full of life. His passion was basketball, family and friends. As my older bother he always felt the need to protect me in every way. He did a great job at it! My saddest memory is one day we were in his house together and we were talking about life in general, and he asked me that if he was to die before me he would want me to go to his grave and plant trees next to his grave and every year go make sure they were growing right, which hurts me deeply because his body was never recovered and there is no grave to go to. I will never forget him ever and will always carry him in my heart forever. Mauricio thank you for all you taught me, all we shared, and all the beautiful memories I have of us growing up and as adults. You were simply the best brother I could have ever had. I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU MORE THAN WORDS CAN EVER SAY!!!!! until we meet again, goodnight!

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
