Jiff, thanks for all the great times we had together hanging and just cutting up. From the sixth grade on, we stayed in contact throughout and spent a Friday night two weeks before 9/11 at a football game. One of a kind, and always showed you respect and love. He knew how to make you feel special and like you were the best.I love you Dude and miss you. I hope I am half the man you were and thanks for being the great person you were.

Maynard Spence, a great mentor, an encourager, a great friend, a household name in our home. I felt my husband's pain as he lost a dear friend. God bless the Spence family. We will always remember Maynard.

I went to Northwest High School with Jif. He was a senior then and older than me. I remember asking him for help with schoolwork a couple of times and he always helped. He was a very kind person. I was deeply saddened when I found out he was gone.

YOUR OLE UNCLE REMEMBERS THE SANDDYHEADED YOUNG FELLOW RUNNING THROUGH THE FIELDS IN NORTH CAROLINA I WAS PROUD OF THAT YUNG MAN AS MUC AS I WAS OF THE MAN YOU GREW TO BE. YOU GREW OUT OF THE NICK NAME OF JIFF AND AS A MAN YOU MADE YOUR MARK ON THE BUSINESS WORLD. YOU ARE MISSED BY FAMILY AND THOSE WHO LOVED YOU.

Maynard Spence was my mentor and a great reason that I have had great success in my career as well as with my family life. Today I was sharing great times with another up and coming risk person. He is smiling down on all today.

Jif was a very loving and caring cousin of mine. I was devastated when I found out that he was in the towers when the towers went down. I always knew him as "Jif". We always had fun as kids when we were growing up. I'd go to his house all the time and ride horses that my uncle had. I even stayed two weeks at his house.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
