Melanie and I worked together while she was at Waters, we had dinner with a group of students two weeks before the tragedy. That evening she told stories of her childhood which it was obvious was a joyfull time. She was kind, smart and personable. Melanie was simply a joy to be with. My heart still hurts when I think of her, I can not imagine how much her family misses her.

I have fond memories of Melanie whilst performing with her and her sister Ruth in several stage shows on Hayling and Lovedean.
A beautiful young life so cruely taken. Thinking of your family at this sad time.
RIP. x

I only knew Melanie briefly from working at Sinah Warren but I always remember her personable and caring manner. Truly a great loss. R.I.P Mel

I knew Mel when she worked at Guys Hospital - she was always cheerful and full of fun, happy to go out for a drink with us lowly PhD students at the Thomas Guy Club. I often think of her and deplore the waste of life.

If I should die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a foreign field
That is forever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware,
Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam,
A body of England's, breathing English air,
Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.
And think, this heart, all evil shed away,
A pulse in the eternal mind, no less
Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given;
Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day;
And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness,
In hearts at peace, under an English heaven

Just a word to say our thoughts and prayers are still with Mel's family and just to let them know that people haven't forgotten her on this painful day. She was a fantastic girl who was always cheerful and helpful. Indeed, she gave me a dig out on a few occasions by giving me company info from the Risk library for free so I'll always be indebted.

I studied with Mel in London for two years of evening classes. We had many fun evenings, and I remember her well. Whenever I am in NY, I always make a point of going to Ground Zero to find her name and to take a few minutes to remember.

I did not know this woman, though I know she will be dearly missed by her friends and her family. She seemed like such a caring and kind woman who, by the sounds of things, never had a frown upon her face. My heart goes out to everyone's family and friends who were affected by this tragedy. I will never forget you.
Rest in peace, and may God bless your souls. x

Hi, there. I did not know this woman. She fell victim to this attack because this floor she was on was cut off by the way the plane hit. Also, I did not know that this woman was so young when she died.

I may not know much about you, but what I do know is that you were excited to work at the World Trade Center. I know that you are resting in peace in heaven and will stay there with Jesus and God for ever and ever. God bless you.

I went to school with Melanie and her brother Frederick. We always had a real laugh, especially on our long journey back to Hayling Island. I think of her often and wonder how Fred is coping without her. If you pick this up, Fred, get in touch. Cheekyweasle (at) hotmail (dot) com.

P.S. I called one of my boys Fred, such a cool name.

Seeing Mel's picture on the World Trade Center documentary shocked me that someone so beautiful and kind had died in an extremely terrible way. I never knew Melanie, but after seeing her photo, it made me wish I did. I can't begin to explain how sorry I am to hear that a lovely woman like Melanie lived such a short life! May she rest in peace! xxx

I never knew Melanie, but I saw her photo on a special of 9/11, and she looked like a very kind and caring woman with a wonderful smile. I know she worked in the North Tower, and she was trapped in the upper floors above the impact of the plane. I felt terrible she was gone and cried every time I saw her photo because I stop and ask myself, "Why did someone so kind and good have to die like that?" I hope you rest in peace, Melanie. :'(

I went to school with Melanie. She always had a great smile and not a bad bone in her body. I was really gutted when I heard of her tragic news. My heart goes out to her family and close friends. God bless you, Melanie. Rest in peace.

I first met Melanie when I left school in 1985 and saw her from time to time on Hayling, later when I started going to the West Town pub with friends on the island, Melanie was always very funny and always very very happy as well as being extremely intelligent. Many people have mentioned her constant and genuine smile, she really loved life. I cannot imagine what her brother, Mum, Dad and the rest of the family have gone through. They have lost one of life's true angels and my thoughts are with them, rest in peace Melanie...x

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
