[Ed. - My heroine is Melissa Doi. Therefore she inspires us each minute of our lives to work for the freedom of America and of the world. Her sweetness and tenderness are present every day in opening of a flower, in the song of the birds, in the breeze that comes from the sea, in the smile of a baby. You changed the world, Melissa, and that is marvelous. Thank you very much.]

I, too, just recently heard the tape of Melissa Doi and also that of Kevin Cosgrove. I can't express the anguish I feel that innocent people had to experience this all while understanding that their lives were at a finality. It's just so unfair, and even though we all here share the sorrow, we will truly never know what these people went through. I will never forget.

Your innocence and purity are a testament to your honor as a human being. It is hard to believe that there are people in this world who could do what was done to you.

No more tears, no more fear. I was overwhelmed by your voice, by the nightmare you suffered in those last moments. May we all be liberated one day.

May you rest in peace, Melissa. Listening to your 911 tape is so heartbreaking. What you and everyone else must have gone through is unimaginable.

You are a hero whose voice will be heard forever as a reminder of what we will never forget and make sure never happens again.

You are a brave woman and I will never forget.

To Melissa and to the family and friends who loved her:

I am so very sorry for your tremendous loss. I am heartbroken that it takes such a tragic event to bring the world together, so that we may feel for those we have never met. My prayers are with you. Please know that there's a girl in Canada who sends her best wishes to your family. May you find peace in your lives. xo

Hearing your voice on that 9-1-1 tape made me feel so sad. Now, every time I see a fire, however small it may be, I will think of you.

I can't imagine how you suffered during the last moments of your life. Rest in peace!

I've listened to the audio file of your last phone call from the morning of September 11, 2001 and have seen your picture online. Listening to you and seeing you finally made the events of that horrible day real for me in a way I had not yet experienced, and it makes my heart bleed for you.

Hi, Melissa,

I was born in 1969, just like you. You will remain in my heart.

Dear Melissa,

Hearing your last words brought tears to my eyes. Through the horror you were brave and dignified and a true inspiration. You will not be forgotten.

You are in our hearts forever.

I feel so much for you and your family. From time to time we all need to stop and ponder how lucky we are to be here and remember that we could lose our loved ones at any moment. We can't afford to waste a moment in life. Melissa, you have reminded me of that.

I'm not much with words, but I just listened to her 911 tape, and I am sorry for her family's loss. May God bless them.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
