On this 10th memorial of this horrific tragedy I heard your 9/11 call for the first time and have been moved beyond words. I am so grateful for the Lady Dispatcher(Barnes) who stayed with you and comforted you as you slipped away to a better place. In the end all that counts is our connection to each other.

Your "light" has touched many lives, and you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace.

You are not forgotten. Listened to your phone call for the first time today, I hope you and the rest of the 911 victims rest in peace for eternity. I also hope your family has found peace through all this. What a brave and strong woman.

On 09/11/11 I finally have a name and face to the voice that has been with me for years. Just a clip heard on the radio many years ago but it bonded forever to the events of 911 and defined the agony and courage of those terrible moments. Beautiful girl, you will always be the voice of the innocent and the good on that day.

Dear Melissa, you were a couple of years younger than I, but I remember your sweet smile and friendly personality. God bless you and your family.

Dear Melissa,

My name is Jerry Corbin. 22 years of age, student athlete right now in college, and my sport is basketball. A few hours ago I read about you and listened to the phone call you had with the operator. It touched me deeply, honest to god. I am so sorry that you and hundreds of other people had to go out this way. I know you are all in a better place right now, in paradise at that. I just want to let you know that you are my hero and my inspiration, I love you and all those who lost his or hers life that day. Again you are my hero and really an angel. Hopefully I can meet you one day... :-))

-Jerry

After 10 years of this tragedy, it is still brings tears to my eyes. Your call reminded me of how terrible that day was for all of us and I cannot imagine how you must have felt during that last call. You were a brave woman. May you now rest in peace. Everyone, please use 9/11 as an opportunity to tell your family and loved ones how much you love them.

On this 10th anniversary of such tragedy and despair, I am actually ready to really sit down and research and grasp an understanding of what actually happen on this dreadful day. Melissa, while watching the many memorials and remembrance of that event, I heard a portion of your 911 call. I immediately Googled you online because I did not recall your story from the legacy and tributes I had read the night before. Lord behold, I came across your call on Youtube. Your bravery, your anguish, your thoughtfulness, your want, your need, your desire, your cry for help....followed by the realization that you just may not survive, make this event in history ALL SO REAL!  I pray for your family that they find solace in knowing that you touched so many lives. Although in a way that none of us would wish for, you made you mark in history. I never met you, but feel so close to you and I know in my core, you have your halo and wings. May you rest in Paradise eternally! Much <3!

I pray for Melissa these other 3,000 souls and I cannot yet forgive those that celebrated these deaths; and the silence still from their religious leaders speaks volumes, even now, 10 yrs later. Sure, some have spoken out, but far to few to even make a difference. "They" still hate and that hate will consume them in due course.

Justice will be done to you and to those who lost their life unfairly that day. You became and after life hero. Someone who has been honored and remembered and I hope that this message makes you smile. The light is with you.

Today, I heard for the first time your 911 call. You sounded so scared and I now whisk there was someway I could have been there to comfort you and pull you to safety. Ten years has now passed and you have put your the spirit of humanity on the face of that day more than anything else, especially since I knew no one there. Oh how I wish you had not been there. I know your family and friends have had their hearts broken in the worst way.  Your sweet voice was one that was silenced by evil. I pray we silence them soon if for no other reason than to do it for you.

*** Posted by Steve on 2011-09-09 ***

Melissa, I heard your voice tonight again asking the 911 operator if you were going to die. My heart breaks every time I hear you that moment in time. I find myself wishing that I could pray with you on the phone that day. There are no more tears in heaven and so in that I rejoice for you. You have touched my life.
