Wonderful person, loving daughter, and friend. My daughter, whose husband is related to her, always looked forward to seeing her in the Bronx and going downtown with her. I was very fortunate to share many beautiful times with her, like eating pizza in little Italy and taking photos. I know you're in good hands. You are missed by all of us.

Always in our minds and hearts,
Alice, Jeesica, and Julio

I never knew Melissa. I don't know why this happened, only God knows. Rest in peace.

Melissa Doi was not just a victim of the 9/11 attacks. She was a great person, a daughter, a cousin, and my family. Titi Melissa was the closest thing my mother had to a sister. I was only nine years old when she died, yet the effect her death has had on my life is still present to this day. My titi was very smart and had a charming personality like no other. To find that there are websites like this about her touches me because she should never be forgotten. My mom always tells me I'm just like Titi Melissa. I know I'm going to make her proud. I miss you and love you.

Brave lady, you are remembered throughout the world and have touched more hearts than you could ever know. I am so sorry that this tragedy happened. :( xxx

I never once spoke to you, but I feel like we connected that day. Despite not having heard your voice talking to that operator before, once I finally heard your cry for help, we connected. I can't get your voice out of my head. I can't stop thinking of how terrified you must have been. I wish you were still with us. I am eternally sorry.

I just feel so sad and empty inside. I don't have words to express the frustration I feel. I saw her photo and heard her plea for help a minute ago. She was a very brave young woman.

To her family, my sincerest condolences.

A beautiful person and soul who was taken too soon. You will be missed.

Dear Melissa,

You have a beautiful smile, and you looked like a very sweet and fun person to be around. Your 911 call was heartbreaking. I can't imagine how scared you were. When I heard you cry out to voices you heard outside the door, I was hoping someone had found you and your co-workers, but that wasn't the case. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. They have suffered a great loss. So have the other families of the victims of 9/11. God bless you all.

I didn't know you, but I will never forget you!

Searching for info about the 9/11, I found and heard her call, and she touched my heart. I also think about all the other people, who were in that same situation but whose names aren't famous.

I just want her loved ones to know that she will never be forgotten. That day and those people will
never be forgotten. I am very sorry for your loss. God bless all the families of victims of 9/11.

Once again I feel compelled to honor this woman whom I never knew. I cannot imagine the terror that Melissa endured. May the world never, ever forget this hideous act that was not just perpetrated on Americans but rather on all of MANKIND.

After hearing Melissa's 911 call, my heart was sad, yet I felt like I needed to do something, like I was there. I know we can't explain these things, but we must still trust in the Lord and know that all the turmoil in the world will come to an end, and He will once again bring peace. May God be with your family.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
