There was a mass said for Melissa at St. Peter's today and a prayer service at Holy Family Yesterday. The kids and I lit a candle and I am thinking of her as always today.

Another year and another chance to not to forget. Melissa is in our prayers and we shall fly the flag in her honor. God bless the Vincent family.

Thinking of Melissa with the hope and prayer that her family and friends have been able to find some measure of comfort. Melissa was truly an incredible human being. To know her was to love her. She really did not give you a choice, you know. Her spirit is so bright. The next time that you look up at the stars at night, remember this: It takes hundreds of thousands of years for that light to reach the earth and be visible to your eye. And you can't tell by looking which star is just lit or which star has died. The light is just as bright, either way. Melissa is one of those stars. Her spirit forever shines bright in the lives she touched, lighting our path.

I still think about you, Melissa, and remember your kindness and wisdom. The world is a better place because of you. It amazes me to think of the lives you touched. I aspire to be that kind of person ... to have that kind of impact. May God bless your family as you watch over them.

Michelle was one of the first girls I met in college at SUNY-Oswego. We lived in the same dorm (Scales) and became friends. She was a sweetheart and a great person. R.I.P Melissa and my thoughts and prayers are with you always.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Vincent and family,

My thoughts are with you today on 9/11/09. I can still see Melissa's smiling face today, and I remember her often. I will never forget her. She is an angel, and I'm sure she is looking down on us, remembering the good times and the laughs.

All our love,
Tyna Kilbourne (Michele's sister) and family

Dear Vincent family,

I am sitting here thinking of Melissa as I have every year, especially on this terrible anniversary. She and I were in the same sorority in college. Melissa was a wonderful woman. She had a way of lighting up the room and making everyone smile. I'm sure that she is watching over you all with her wonderful smile.

May God bless you,

Thinking of my dear friend, Mel!

I am thinking of Melissa as always on this day.

I remember seeing a news reporter interview Melissa's father right after 9/11. At that time no one knew if she was still alive. I didn't know her, obviously, but she has come to my mind from time to time over the years. I hope her family has found some peace. I don't say that casually. I truly hope they have found peace.

Dear Vincent Family:

Just as you want Melissa to be happy and at peace where she is now, Melissa would most assuredly want you to be happy and at peace here on earth until the day you meet again for eternity. When you remember her, remember the fun and laughs. I'll bet there are lots of those.

All my love,

Another year has passed, yet I can still hear your voice and see your smile as if it was just yesterday. Melissa and I were in the same sorority at SUNY Oswego. Melissa, I will never forget you - your sense of style, your caring nature, your sense of humor and that amazing voice. To Melissa's family, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Melissa will always be in my thoughts on this day.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
