Another year has gone by. I did good on the fdny test, so it is only a matter of time now. I am leaving soon to go down to E-33. God bless.

I can't believe Mikey's gone. I ran cross country and track with him for three years at Murphy Junior High School in Stony Brook, NY. I was undefeated for two years in a row because of him. We were best friends. He was like a brother to me. He always pushed me to be #1. He shaped many of my life's values I still carry with me to this day. We trained at an upstate running camp where we logged 118 miles in a week together. I was just searching the internet and thinking about Mike. I had no idea until today 12/18/07 that he died, running into the tower, I'm sure, with that graceful stride of his. God bless you, Mike. We always laughed when we trained. Please, someone, e-mail me with more information about his life after we parted ways. My heart is broken. I love ya, Mikey. No one could beat us. I am proud to have called you my best friend and my brother.--Johnny, you'll always be running stride for stride with me, telling me to "go get 'em John! Take the race!" I'm so sorry for everyone who knew and loved him.

Michael, you will always be in my heart. You are such a wonderful, kind, and loving person. I will never forget you. I will always have a part of you with me. Thank you for risking your life to save others. Every time I hear Elton Johnís, "Your Song," I think of you. I love you.

One of my best friends, who was a soldier, died because of this war. He was a hero, and I want to say "thank you" to all the military heroes and everyone who was there that day. Also, prayers for the families. God is with you.

You are still my hero, and I will never forget you. I went to the Nassau 9/11 memorial. It was touching. Someday we will meet.

I didn't know Michael, but I feel as if I did. I know and learned as much about him as I could soak up, many people may think it's because I had to, but I didn't have to. I "wanted" to and was "honored" to. I just saw a commercial for the Cinemax documentary on which one of Michael's brothers is going to appear. As soon as I saw the clip of him sitting on the bench on the boardwalk, a chill ran through me. I knew that was Michael's bench and his brother. Michael is in my heart every day not just beacause this is the five year anniversary of 9/11. Each and every one of "my guys" is still in my heart every day and will probably always be. Michael's father Jimmy is forever in my heart as well. Jimmy Boyle is one of the people in my life who has touched it in a way that I will never forget. His friendship and love are cherished. He and his family are always in my thoughts and prayers. Men like Jimmy Boyle are few and far between. I just wanted to take the time out to express my feelings and pay tribute to Michael and to his father Jimmy and of course I am thinking about David too. I love you Jimmy! God Bless!

I went to school and played baseball with Mike. I remember him as someone who was outgoing, friendly and very athletic. He always wanted to be a firefighter like his father. He will forever be missed.

Michael, you are my insperation to reach perfection, even though i have not meet you, or if i did i was too young to remember. I will someday fulfill my goal to be in FDNY and hopefully to be in your company. Michael i miss you dearly and so does everyone in the family. You are our hero. Michael thank you so much for making the ultimate sacrifice along with the other 343. God bless you and your father for always being there to suport me. Thank you Michael and once again, God Bless you.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments.
