I did not have the Honor of meeting you. God Bless America for Heroes like you and the many that we lost on that day. I wear a memorial bracelet bearing your name and I will never forget. Not one day goes by that I don't think of 9-11-01. This year I will be riding in your Honor in "Run for the Wall". I will also be traveling to New York this Sept. to pay my respects to all. I have a special 9-11 flag that is being signed and am hoping I can leave it at your Firehouse.

While I never met Michael, I can tell you his bravery and gallantry in the line of duty was unmatched by all accounts as was that of all the other heroes who perished that day. I can tell you that having just visited the LLWS museum and seeing his number 11 in right field brought tears to my eyes. I am so glad that Little League has honored Michael in this manner so that his name will always be associated with the LLWS and bravery and heroism. God bless.

I have the distinct honor this year of reading Michael's name during the 9/11 memorial ceremony at the WTC site. I will state his name proudly and knowing that Michael died helping others—putting his sense of duty before his sense of fear. God bless him and his family. He will never be forgotten.

I am a firefighter in Evergreen, Colorado and never had the opportunity to meet Michael. Yesterday, September 11, 2008 I and 342 other firefighters from across Colorado did a memorial stair climb at the Qwest Tower in Denver Colorado. Each of us climbed the 55 stories through the stairwells twice to emulate the 110 stories of the twin towers. Each of us carried a photo of one of the firefighters killed in the line of duty on 9-11. I carried Michael's photo during my climb and it was definitely the heaviest item I carried that day.

For school I had to do a report on a hero. I picked Michael because of how young he was and what he sacrificed to save others' lives on that day. Even though I never knew him, reading everyone's comments on his pages, I wish that I knew him. He sounds like a incredible person, and he is greatly missed. He was a great person, and I am glad to have him as my hero. Rest In Peace, Michael, and may god be with you and your family.

You are in my prayers and thoughts more than you know. I had a newspaper clipping of you in my mirror for years..... and then, last summer, I got a bunny, who figured out how to get on my dresser one day. He chewed the bottom right corner, and I was so upset. I cried for a while, not for the piece of paper, but a fractured feeling of loss all over again. Still, I look at that clipping, and remember the important things in life. Thank you for reminding me all the time... Thank you for everything.

I didn't know Michael at all but, I've had the chance to go to a few memorial site's on the internet and I was very intrigued by what I read about him. He was just so young and that just break's my heart because he had so much life left to live. All of the victim's did but, for some reason Michael really touched my heart. I just want to say that I think Michael was a true hero and that I'll be praying for his family. God bless!

I feel a little strange writing something about a man who I didn't get the chance to know. I read about Mike and was immediately drawn to him. I have a respect for him that I didn't even know was possible. I saved his picture and article from the NY Post on June 7, 2003. I keep it posted in my room and look at it every day. When I am feeling sad, stressed, or any negative feelings, I can just look at his picture and feel better. He keeps me reminded of the truly important things in life. Although I didn't know Mike, he is my hero. To me, he is the most beautiful person in the world, he gave his all. I will be eternally grateful for his courage, strength, love, and hope.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
