I just want to know that you did not suffer, that the Lord took you into His arms and you felt His peace. Your life and the way you lived is a testimony to others that may take this for granted. May we all live each day to the fullest, knowing that it may be our last.

I knew Mike in elementary school at St Ignatius Loyola. He was my brother's good friend, and we enjoyed playing with him as kids. He called me "Lord's Sister." My second child, born in 1999, is doing a research paper on the tragedies of 9-11. It still remains unfathomable, and it's difficult to explain the magnitude of the day and all that we lost. My heart and prayers go out to all of the Armstrong family and to all who knew Mike. He was a great kid, and I am sure that he was also a great man.

I still can envision Mike bartending at Turtle Bay - always had a smile on his face and something nice to say to anyone he met....... such a tragedy that he is gone, and he will never be forgotten, my prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends on the anniversary of another 9/11......

It is hard to describe the loss of a family member so integral to the whole. I remember holding Mike as an infant on his christening day, and I remember him just before his planned wedding. His love of life and all it had to offer and all the people who crossed his path made him an exceptional person, larger than the life most of us live. He will be remembered and will be an inspiration to us all. May God bless him, and may he rest in peace.

We all miss you dearly.
Today is 9/11/08.
It's been years since you passed away, and still nothing is the same.

I didn't know Michael, and I won't pretend to understand your grief. I just need to share this story. My first trip to NYC was Christmas 2007. I went down to Ground Zero to pay my respects. Looking over the long list of victims, I paid special attention to anyone sharing my last name. There was one. I said a little prayer and then went about my day. Four days later, while resting in Central Park, I noticed the bench I was sitting on was dedicated in memory of Mike Armstrong--a victim of 9/11. I'm not one to believe in coincidence, really. I don't know what the Universe was trying to teach me--possibly to appreciate my family a little more--but I do know, after reading all your kind, generous, and loving words about Mr. Armstrong, that his memory and spirit are with you still. I'm so sorry for your loss.

God bless you, Mike. All of the Loyola family speaks of you often, as you know. I just read Loyola's latest magazine, and I was so happy to read that the first recipient of your scholarship fund has just graduated, and she is headed to Loyola, Maryland.

GOD BLESS YOU and your family. How soon we forget a terrorist act ... even one so horrid. I hope if you have any children, they grow up to know their dad did not die in vain.... You must be special since GOD chose to take you so soon.

I grew up with Michael in Yorkeville. He was a couple of years younger than me. We often played sports together on a Friday or Saturday night at St Ignatius gymnasium. I will always remember Michael the same way I do all my friends I grew up with. We could go months (then as we got older-years) without seeing each other and then we would run into each other on the street and it was like we never lost touch and would be able to catch up quickly. Mike was a great guy and I think about him often as I do many victims of 9/11.

Each day I think about the 9-11 attack. It's heart breaking for those who suffer from their losses. As I was looking through the victims of 9-11 and reading other's tributes to Michael Armstrong, I found Michael's smile to be warm and sincere. He seemed to love what he did and worked hard to achieve in this world at such a young age. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who suffer from his loss. God Bless

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
what kind of person he/she was,
what nice points you remember about him/her,
what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
what you two perhaps did together,
what he/she meant to you,
or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

This web site is affiliated with 24K Gold Music Shows - an oldies music showband performing in Central Florida. The members of the showband feel strongly that there were many heroes manifested during the onslaught of terror associated with 9-11, and present this site as a memorial to those whose lives were lost, and the loved ones they left behind.
24K Gold Music Shows perform primarily 50-60s Oldies, Elvis songs, DooWop, and older country music, as well as patriotic songs. All of the musicians, singers, dancers, and staff of the 24K Gold Music Shows extend their deepest sympathies to every one who lost loved ones on that terrible day.
24K Gold Music Shows performs an original song called "The Day America Cried", which is a 9-11 tribute song. In the live shows, they honor with the song not only the heroes of 9-11 but also those who are still alive: the police personnel, firefighters, emergency personnel, soldiers, and others who have served our country and kept us all safe.
Listen also to this beautiful, touching song "Love Can Build a Bridge" by 24K Gold Music Shows. Even though strictly speaking it's not a 9-11 memorial song, I still feel it is a very fitting song for the occasion!
