Often throughout the year the question is posed what makes a hero? It only takes about a picosecond to jolt the image of those towers to my mind and bring back all of the sad moments encompassed with the memory of that infamous day. I don't know about everyone else but to me it should be apparent, it shouldn't take more than a moment's time to realize what happened on that day.. the countless lives lost, sacrificed, and saved are insurmountable and unforgettable. The heroes in my heart and in my life are those that gave up everything that day including you. You showed courage and bravery that was in your heart that could never be surpassed. The countless lives you touched both as firefighter and as a man could never forget the protection, the friendship, the love and the kindness you provided to family members, friends and strangers. It is without a doubt that I can proudly call you a hero. A hero whom I nor anyone else will ever forget. We miss you, we love you and you will never be forgotten, your life lives on in us forever.

Mike,

I miss you. We met at Bears Bar in Manhattan, I think in '98. My sister and I were playing the Barquizz and won :-) and you said, "Who are the Swedes?" I loved you at first sight, your goofy smile and happy eyes. You made my three weeks in New York the best trip ever. I think about you very often, and I send love to your family.

Love,
Tess

My heart goes out to Bob and the family. We all miss you, Mike, and we will never, ever forget the impact you made on all of our lives. You are and always will be our hero.

Mike was an excellent guy. He was my hockey coach. He sacrificed his time to help coach the team in College Point. When I was a kid, he helped make me the best player and the captain of the team. He inspired me to be a team player and helped me stay off the streets. I remember he was always smiling and a very friendly guy. I will always remember him and drive down his road when I drive through College Point. May god bless him and his family for his courage. We'll miss you, Mikey.

Whats up, little guy? A day does not go by without me thinking about you. It is hard to believe that I am a father. Talene Seta is my little angel on earth, and I know you're my angel on our shoulders. Miss you, buddy. Love you!

And so it is seven years since God took you into his arms and left the earth with a hero. Please continue to watch over us and guide us. I love you and miss you, cousin.

I just heard your name read, Mikey, and I got chills throughout my body,, I still can't believe it, 7 years later or in 7,000,000 years... you will always be remembered.

I worked with Mike when he was a NYC police officer at the 10th pct. He was a great cop, and I am sure even a better fireman. You are missed. The rest of us are slowly coming up there.

You were very brave and a hero. I am writing a paper on heroes, and I decided to write about you to keep your memory alive.

My thoughts are always about that day and all my friends I lost that day. I live in Florida now. I left the city. In Florida there are 6 months with no rain--it's called the dry season--and each day something is set ablaze. When I see these fires, I see you heading to save the world....

My love goes out to everyone, heads high everyone but NEVER FORGET ... WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU MADLY.

I have so many childhood memories of Mikey. I'm glad that I had the chance to be his friend for all of those years. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, today and always. He will always be remembered.

I met Mikey in the summer of 2001 at Tiki Bar with a friend. He had the best pick-up line ever! I still have a stuffed dog that he won on the boardwalk "skutch." I wish I could have got to know him better. He was such a great guy. I was lucky to have met him.

Still missing you - these anniversaries never get easier...

Mike,

I never had the chance to meet you, but from what I see, you were a great guy. Sounds like you were a Ranger and Yankee fan, 2 of my passions. We were cousins who never had the chance to meet because of this horrible day 6 years ago. Every time I see a firefighter, I think of you and how you sacrificed your life for other people. God Bless.
