Mike was a dear friend. I am directing a new play at NJ Rep called Jericho and I am dedicating the show in memory of Mike. He had one of the biggest hearts and not a bad bone in his soul God bless you Mike

Michael is watching over you and I hope you have found peace now that you are able to finally visit him. God bless you both until you meet again. Prayers from Texas.

I know mike and are crystal must be happy and at peace. they probably are wondering why we are all so sad. god bless mike family and enjoy the memories. love you mike forever. mary melvin

For all the Gerard Ikens and Monica Ikens of the world: We have not forgotten your Michael Ikens, lost on September 11th, 2001. We have not forgotten your brother, Gerard, nor your husband, Monica. We feel loss every September 11th like it was yesterday, although we can never feel the loss that you feel. We feel the loss of all those innocent people who were just going about their daily lives. We cry, we scream, we mourn and reflect. It is not fair and will never be. We send you our love and our strength and our hope that our love is bigger than their hate. Please feel the strength of love and that we shall NEVER forget all of the Michael Ikens that were lost that day. Never. We honor them by remembering, and so we shall continue to remember them for your sakes as well as our own. God bless the surviving family members, friends, and work buddies that are still feeling such pain. We feel for you as though it were our own.

...I am a frequen visitor to Sept.11, victims website.
I am just still in shock from whole ordeal. I'm still
trying to make sense from this purpose n why it happened.
I was taught that everything balances out in end but
I don't know how it can after such drastic results both
physically n mentally , after 911.
5yrs. later n I still can't find an answer or any
comfort in the world.I pray for everyone.

He died as he lived, caring for people - helping a distraught staff member deal with the horror of the first plane's attack. He lives in our hearts and in our memories as the gentle young man who cared deeply for others.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
