The poem " Song of Sorrow" will always remind me of you.

Our prayers were with the Canty family when we heard the news of the lose of Mike in the Towers. Ron and Tim were in Linton with Mike and all played football. We will always remember him and also his family. John, Wanda, Ron and Tim CADIEUX

Michael was in my life for a brief moment in time. We were family friends, and I stayed with him when I went on college visit. He was incredibly fun, welcoming and generous, and I still to this day have found memories of that brief time together. His loss helped to inspire me to serve overseas, and I am incredibly honored to have known such fine man. God Bless him.

I went to school with my sweet adorable Mike except HS but I thought of him all the time and wished I could have gone to liton with him I even went so far as wearing a liton shirt and was called a trader for wearing it. Mike was the sweetest and kindest man. I miss him with all my heart. In junior high he's the only guy to treat me like I was somebody. He didn't go out of the way to talk to me but when he and I did talk, he was sweet and respectable. He was the best dressed guy in school and voted the best dressed for our 8th grade yearbook. I loved him and always will. He blessed us all with his presents in our life. I will dearly miss him til the day I die, but I am glad he's with my daughter Clara Elizabeth Tucker whom I miscarried. Mike will always be the only man I will ever love. I was always picked on and didn't understand why he didn't do it to but we all know that he was an angel sent here to bless our lives and show us light in this dark and glumy world we live in. God bless Michael and his friends and family. Thanks mom and dad Canty for raising such a fine man, I love you mike

I went to Loyola with Mike and he truly was the sweetest guy ever. He had a big, beautiful smile and a huge heart and the kindest soul. I was devastated by the loss of such a person- this planet needs more like him. My only consoling thought is that God took him home to make more like him. He must have needed his angels for something big- because Mike was, and is, an angel. I love you, Mike. God Bless. xoxo

I went to high school with Mike and often hung out with him socially. He was kind, intelligent, a good friend to others, and a class act. With the recent events stirring up memories, I thought of Mike this morning, stumbled upon this site, and can think now of a wonderful young man who is surely missed by everyone who knew him.

I live in Concord, MA, and Michael's brother's family lived only a couple of houses away from me. I believe I met him at a block party. It's frightening how many lives were affected. He was never found. Rest in peace.

Although we are probably not related in any way, whenever the Twin Towers are mentioned, I always think of Michael. My thoughts go out to all of his family and friends.

I didn't know Michael at all; however, my prayers and thoughts go out to his family and the families of all who lost their lives on 9-11-01. Michael and I share the same first and last names. He is the first person I have heard of with the same name, and when I heard he passed away, I had to send my prayers and thoughts. God be with us all.

I just asked my mom, "What happened to Uncle Mike?" She told me that it is a very sad story that happened nine months before I was born. She also told me that Uncle Mike was the sweetest, kindest uncle that any kid could have ... and how I would have loved him.

My mom (Chickie) and my sister and I never knew Michael, but we did know his parents. I extend my thoughts and prayers out to every member of Michael's family. I know my mom is up in heaven with Michael watching over him.

Mike was older than me in high school at Linton, but I remember him because of his friendliness. He wore a smile to greet anyone...regardless if he knew them well or not at all. Since I was out of state when the tragedy occurred, my mother sent me both the obituary and the article printed in the Schenectady paper because she remembered me mentioning him from high school. I still have both and think of him whenever 9/11 is mentioned. Even to those he hardly knew, he is sorely missed.

I can remember Mike being at my house when I was very young.  He was one of my sister Ashley's great friends.  I remember him as always the sweetest, always the kindest, and always the most handsome.  I grew up with the biggest crush on Mike!  I was so happy when he and my sister went to the prom together!  He was an incredible person, and will be missed by SO many people.  Mike, rest in peace, and while you're up in heaven, every once in a while, check on my little Aiden, could you?  You're the kind of influence I want around my child.
You are so missed....this world is less without you in it.
Love Always,
Morgen

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
