Stitch lived next door to me in Avalon, summer of 1996. I just recently found out about his passing and I am just so sad about it. He lived there the summer he graduated from Scranton, with Murph, Cort and Frank. I can clearly remember him in my head from that whole summer and all the fun things we used to do. I remember Stitch driving us to the beach, him and Murph would do that goofy run into the water that they knew would make us laugh, we would sing stupid songs (like "beautiful balloon") on our porch, watch the summer olympics everynight, play "cups" in our kitchen, driving his jeep up on the lawn and just leaving it there, that was his space! At first I called him "Styx", and he didn't correct me! Until someone said "Meg, by the way, it's STITCH." I was embarrased, but noticed how he didn't want to correct me, he didn't want me to feel stupid, that is just the type of guy he was. I know it was a long time ago, and it was only for 1 summer, but those memories are still with me. Stitch and the other guys made for one awesome summer in Avalon. I always thought I was so lucky for never knowing anyone who persished on 9/11. And there I was, 3 years later in a bar, and I met up with another girl who lived with us that summer and she told me of his passing. I was standing there, biting my lip, trying not to cry. I left there soon after, and cried the whole way home. I still didn't believe it until I went on the internet and found various memorial pages, and I knew it was true. I will always keep in my heart all those memories from that summer and thank God I knew Stitch for the short time I did. I will always pray for him; all the others, his family, and your beloved girlfriend, Amy. May God bless Stitch, the Costello's, all his friends;  always, and May God Bless America! Rest in peace.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
