Pic, my mama always tell me that when I was a baby you would baby sit for her, she said I stayed only one night and you said that you would never keep me again because I cried to much, she said after that night you left the state of Arkansas. I know that isn't true but she says it so she can laugh and not cry, because we miss you and love you. You are my hero!                                                                        Love You

I am a cousin that never met Nehamon, but have heard great things about him, Rest In Love! I know that you and my daddy is having a great time up there in heaven. He was also in the Navy, so you all have a lot to talk about!                                                Love You

Nehamon, my little cuz. It has been 8 years today, it still seems like it is a bad dream. We miss you so much. It hurts so bad but we know that you are in a better place. Pic, I promise, I will never forget you because you were more than a cousin -- you were more like a little brother. I want you to know that my life is incomplete. There's a part of my heart that hurts daily when I think of you. I wish you knew how much you are missed and loved. I can't stop these tears from running down my face, and I ask the Lord for His loving grace, mercy, and strength to get me through. Your 20-year class reunion was tonight and your class honored you Jewel, Aunt Mamie, Bae and myself was there, it was really nice. Dollarway School has a bench in your name in the square by the office, it is really nice. Pic, know that we all love and miss you, and nothing will never will change that. Don't forget me, and I hope and pray to see you again on my day.                                          Love You Always

I also served with Petty Officer Lyons on board the Gettysburg. He was a great individual, and I will never forget him. He never let his spirit down, and it was hard not to like the man.

Remembering you on this anniversary of 9/11. You were a good seventh-grade student. You did well and made your family proud with your accomplishments. You will forever be remembered as a hero for your sacrifice.

Nehamon was the last OS I trained before leaving the Gettysburg. I only knew him for a month or two. I was very saddened to hear that such a nice person had to leave us so soon. God's speed.

I served with Lyons on the USS Gettysburg as well, and Lyons was always a joy to be around. He was always a hard worker, and willing to go the extra mile. We didn't hang out much, but it was an honor to know Lyons, and my heart and prayers go out to his family. God Bless.

I served with Lyons onboard the USS Gettysburg.  While I would not characterize us as friends, I would call him a good aquaintence.  He was always available to talk to and he truely seemed interested in the people around him.  He was a credit to his country, the Navy and his family.  He will be missed.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
