Neilie..10 years ago.You left this human world..Mike and Riley lost their wife and mom..that day is so clear everyone misses you terribly..10 years later the pain is lessened but still there..You will never be forgotten...

Hi Neilie, I never met you but I used to work with your sister Eileen. I have thought of you often - especially after seeing your picture with your daughter Reilly. I hope your family is at peace and that you think of them every day as we do you! You are sadly missed.

I never met you but just sat by your memorial on the Cape. Its unbelievable it has been 10 years. My prayers go out to your little girl and I hope she knows what a wonderful person you were and carries on your legacy.

Tonight you have justice. I never met you, Neilie, but I had the pleasure of knowing your brother and his wife many years ago. I am very sad for you and for your family. My heart and thoughts are with your brother and all of your family and friends. Tonight I hope everyone has more healing. I can't even imagine how deeply the hurt is stirred at this emotional moment in history as your loss is again felt, but tonight as always, I know their love for you is felt more strongly than ever.

I was thinking of you just the other day. All those late afternoons and nights working on the High School Newspaper ... going out for pizza ... tormenting teachers with constant questions ... and listening to Mrs. Mimms in English class. I only knew you for four years, but what I do remember was an individual who always was smiling and always kind. You were hard-working and a leader ... not one to go with the crowd just because it was the thing to do. You were such a wonderful person, and the world still greatly misses you. May you be smiling at us all from above.

Hey Neilie,

Mark, Mathew, and I will never forget your vivaciousness and smile. Always perky and upbeat. We connected as family all those many years ago in Boca. Living just down the street brought us together. All the casual and holiday dinners, just talking on the patio about your future, and then you brought home Mike ... a perfect fit. Then came college at Holly Cross, a wedding to beat the band, and cute little Reilly. WE WILL NEVER FORGET.... You were taken too soon. Even now, nine years later, when we have all moved to different places, we still make our phone calls to your mom. We know your family heads out to the point ... and this year the weather is just great. They will hit a golf ball out to the ocean, and you will be laughing ... because Bill will probably hit a slice. Your mom ... a perfect drive.

Love you, honey ... and will remember you always.

A big hug,
Peggy

Neilie, we met you so briefly but you made a huge impression on us, with your big smile and your beautiful family. We are reminded of that smile every day when we see your daughter, and you will never be forgotten.

Hi,

I am a graduate of Holy Cross (2005). I had never even met beautiful Neilie, but I must admit, her glowing smile when holding her daughter has been imprinted in my memory for 7 years. I am now married with a family of my own (twin boys, Nate and Tony age 2), and I think of Neilie often.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
