I am not American, but I am of Malagasy origin. But on this day of September 11th, this tragedy remains in my heart. Thoughts for all the innocent persons killed that day there, as well as for Norberto, who has become a legend today. May GOD bless Norberto and his family.

God bless he and his family. I'm happy for the family knowing he didn't jump, but let God judge those that did. I don't agree with suicide, but at that time and circumstance we can't know if God would condemn anyone. God bless America!

If I were to make a guess about what that man was thinking?  "I don't want my family imagining a horrible death for me.  I want them to see me relaxed and ready to meet my savior."  He looks very dignified to me.  I would be proud.
My deepest sympathies to all of those who lost loved ones that day.

We were born on the same day but on different sides of the world. Even though we never met, you will always be in my thoughts.

I am not an American. I am British, aged 16, and on that day I was sickened and horrified to see men and women in peril. I would just like to extend my deepest sympathy and regret of those days' events. R.I.P.

I feel very sorry for all those who became victims of this horrible tragedy. Nothing is more painful than losing someone who is the most important person in your life. I hope they all rest in peace and never be forgotten. I won't... Rest in peace!

I watched "The Falling Man" programme last night. Had it of been your husband/father, then there was no shame in being the man that fell or jumped. It took a brave man to do that. However, I am glad for you that it was not him, and I thought right from the start of the programme that it was clear from the sequence of photos that it wasn't him.

From all the pictures and news clips I have read, I have come to the conclusion that, in addition to loosing your family member, I also think that you have been messed about by the newspapers, and I hope you can all recover from your loss and move on.

Having just watched a documentary on Channel 4 today, my thoughts are with the family of N.H. He was a brave and courageous man. May God rest his gentle soul and all the victims of 9/11. May the Good Lord grant them all eternal rest.

I can't begin to imagine the tragedy you have suffered during 9/11. I've just watched the documentary 'The Falling Man,' and it is just a unimaginable the lengths some people went to to try and save themselves. Our thoughts are with you all.

Every time I see footage of that day, it gives me chills. The thought of what these heroic people must have been feeling at that time makes me want to cry. The victims of September 11th should never be forgotten. They were very brave.... god bless

I've just watched "The Falling Man," and it made me cry. Whether this man was or wasn't your beloved papa, it took an incredibly brave man to jump from that burning building. My thoughts and prayers are with you on the anniversary.... They will never be forgotten....

After watching "The Falling Man," I agree he was not Norberto Hernandez, and I am happy for your family. However, there was no shame in what the Falling Man did; he took his life and fate into his own hands, and instead of burning to death and becoming dust, he chose to free himself of pain and flew into the hands of God, returning to the powers that created him. It was not suicide; it was murder. No, "that ... is (was) not my (your) father", but he was just as brave--or even perhaps more so--than Norberto Hernandez was, and he is in heaven and will always be remembered as fearless, brave, graceful, and now at peace, along with all the other "jumpers" and victims of 9-11. Never condemn others for actions you obviously could never understand nor even contemplate--shame on you. May we never be faced with such terror again, and may we never forget. God bless us all.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site.
