I just watched the video on Youtube about the falling man on 9/11.... I hope the Hernandez family lives in peace and happiness in the future. And to Norberto: I hope the angel will always be with you, and rest in peace. My prayers for him.

I live in Belfast in Ireland, and when I heard about this I actually cried. I can't imagine what the family went through. I was watching a documentary called "9/11: The Jumping Man," and the picture horrified me when I saw it. I wanted to cry. But I am sure that he was a lovely man, and he loved his family so much.

I can't imagine what sort of pain your family are going through. R.I.P.

We just watched "The Falling Man." We've all seen news and footage of 9-11 at some time, but this was something else. I'm not religious, tho my wife is Catholic. I hope all those who were lost really are in a better place. I hope that god really does have them secure and safe in his presence and watching over their loved ones. R.I.P. You will never be forgotten.

That day he didn't fall. He flew to heaven. May god bless.

You will never be forgotten, and neither will any of those who died on that horrific day.

Dear Hernandez family,

To say ”time heals all wounds” is a lie. You would have to be inhuman not to mourn your beloved Norberto forever. I have just watched ”The Falling Man.” I am happy for you that he turned out not to be Norberto. But in a way, I’m also sad. I’m not religious, but if ever something has made me think about choosing a religion, it’s the picture of ”the falling man.” I was a guide in Greece on 9/11. The whole disaster was turned into a bizarre show, where every bar and disco along the beach displayed large screens with the horrific images in order to attract customers.

It became an unreal event that way. Logically, I understood the significance of the terror attack, but I never really understood the magnitude of it until I saw the picture of ”The falling man.” It would have been so religiously extraordinary had it been Norberto. A Christian person who had come to such terms with his God that he was given the choice of how to die: choking inside the tower in smoke and flames, or one last lingering breath of fresh air, sending all his love and thoughts to his beloved family while coming to terms with his own imminent death? The choice is beyond the imagination of all of us alive.

I wish you all the best in the future, and I sincerely hope you will accept my deepest condolences. Norberto Hernandez as well as all the other casualties of 9/11 have become a symbol to me of how the world certainly has room for improvement.

I hope you will find a way to move forward. God be with you all.

I saw the movie "The Falling Man" and wanted to express my sympathy to the family and friends of Norberto. I believe that Norberto and all the other victims of 9/11 will always be remembered. I just pray that someday our nation will know the truth about 9/11. God bless you all and the United States of America.

I just saw the video on the falling man. It is now 2009, and I wanted to let the family know that the heroes of that day are the victims, and they are not forgotten. My prayers go out to the families of the people who lost their lives that day.

I have never ever met you, Mr. Hernandez. Regardless, you're a hero. That fall you experienced, what was it like? None of us will ever exactly know.... May your soul live on forever. I have incredible respect for you.

I just heard your story on a 9/11 special on TV.

I may only be 15 and may not understand this world as greatly as older people do. But let it be known that my heart goes out to you.

You didn't jump. You didn't have a choice.

My prayers are with your family. You will never be forgotten.

Just watched "The Falling Man" in England, and of course it was so sad that it brought me to tears. May everyone who perished rest in peace.

Does no one really know? He was there with outstretched arms welcoming all who saw Him. Not 'jumpers'—true belivers.

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
