I'd like to pay my respects to the Hernandez family: Que Dios los bendiga. [Ed. - May God bless them.]

To the family of Norberto Hernandez:

I am deeply sorry for your loss, the loss of a husband, a father, a son, a fellow American, a human being. May God bless your family with healing and closure as these eight years have passed. You are all very strong people, stronger than I could ever be. May we never forget Norberto Hernandez and all the other victims of September 11th. God bless you all. I will keep you in my prayers.

Very sorry for your loss in 2001-9-11.

IF that was your Father he made probably the hardest decision of anyone's life! There is no disgrace in what that man did if it was him! The man, whoever he was, is a lot stronger than I ever would be RIP

I have just watched The Falling Man documentary on Ch4 here in England. Very dramatic footage. May you find comfort that your loved one is at piece.

I recently heard the story from my dad, wow, I thought he was pushed, in fact, he had the choice of dying in pain with the fires or jumping; and dying in bliss, God rest his soul...

I have just finished watching the film, "9/11: The Falling Man"! I was moved to tears by the story of Norberto and his family. Whoever the falling man was, he showed more courage in his final 10 seconds of his life than many of us show in our entire lifetimes. All my prayers and thoughts are with the Hernandez family. How you have suffered! But take comfort that Norberto is watching over you all. He is at peace now. His story has been told. God bless.

This was never a suicide. I hope all his family have trusted in the fact that he was doing what any other person would have done. If anything he should be a role model because he chose how he ended his life, and I am sure he found peace in his final minutes. So much love goes to all of you!

Having to make a choice about how to end your life is something that I am scared to even think about. I'm currently watching "9/11: The Falling Man," and considering I am only 13 years old, all the people and Norberto Hernandez are in my heart. I respect anyone who was related to someone who died that day and, of course, the people who gave their lives. They are and will always be very special and brave. We will never forget them. Rest in peace to the 9/11. God bless.

I just watched the program on TV in England.... My heart goes out to his family. So sorry for your loss. x

This man, along with all the people who lost their lives in 9-11, will be remembered in our hearts for the rest of our lives! You will never be forgotten!

We have not forgotten, and we still share your sadness.

I know there was controversy around showing this photo at the time, but I am glad they did. No disrespect to the family, but their relative showed exactly what a truly terrible and terrifying situation he was in. We hear of the fight or flight situation, and in this there was no fight. I think that to jump was truly heroic and must have given him some sense of control. It will keep the memory of 9/11 in memories for a long time—as it should, as a reminder of the aftermath of terrorist acts. God bless all his family for their suffering. I hope you have found some peace.

My thoughts are with your beautiful family. They lost someone who meant everything to them. May you rest eternally in peace. May your family find strength and pass on your memories to all your future generations. You are a hero, not just to your family, but to all of us who believe in peace.

To the Hernandez family, I cannot imagine how you have suffered over these years. I am a father of six children in Southampton, England. May God bless you all.

My thoughts will always be, "What on earth must you have been going through to jump?" God rest your soul.... These evil men will never destroy us.  x x

I pray for all the families and my heart goes out to them. I feel terrible for what has happened and I still cry about even though nobody I knew had died in the towers.

We remember you.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
