I've just seen a programme about 9/11. What a brave man you are! All the best.

I don't know you, but I just watched a programme on TV about 9/11, and I have to say that you are a brave man and a good fireman. Rest in peace.

I saw your name, your efforts, and your strength on UK TV. You were a truly fantastic human being, who put others before himself.

I will always be so proud to call you my cousin. I'll never forget you, nor the bravery you showed that terrible day. You are my hero and my inspiration. Thank you. R.I.P.

I learned about Orio Palmer reading the book "102 Minutes." The bravery and strength he demonstrated on 9/11 still amazes me. He is an inspiration to anyone who needs inspiration to persevere through their struggles. He is one of mine.

I attended St. Ann's school in the Bronx, 8th grade class of 1970 with Orio. Although it's been 38 years, I have never forgotten him. I just found out last week he passed on 9/11. God bless him and his family.

Although I did not know "Orio" personally, from the show on the History Channel, he was a brave and caring person. May god keep you in his heart forever, as I will. I can only hope my son will grow to be half the man you seem to be.

Heard your voice on the History Channel show. Wanted your family to know that "stangers" around the country are saying a prayer for them. Your memory is alive. Thank you for your sacrifice.

While watching "102 Minutes" on the History Channel, I listened to a firefighter. They called him Orio. I wanted to find out who he was because I can't seem to get him out of my mind. Seven years later ... you're still remembered ... you always will be.

I just watched the 102 minutes show on the History Channel. I was glad to see you recognized. I wore my copper bracelet with your name and thought of you all day today. I was telling people about you at work. And I showed my son our senior pictures in the Spellman yearbook tonight. Iíll never forget our time at the senior football rally as Roman warriors or the many nights hanging out in your basement and on Peterís place. Although I felt sad knowing you are not here on earth anymore, I laughed and smiled at all the good times and memories we shared. You are always in my heart and still the best of the best!

I listened to the audio so many times of Chief Orio Palmer reaching the upper floors and reporting "numerous 10-45 code ones." It took a man among men to do what he did. Although I never knew him personally, it would have been a pleasure to. My hope is that his bravery in the face of the untimate danger makes others look to serve their fellow human beings. See you at the big one, Chief.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
