On our tenth year anniversary, I want to say that I still see his eyes, his honor. I always remember and pray for the families of these heroes and victims. You are always on my mind, not just on this anniversary, but every day. Praying God will give you comfort and strenght this 9-11.

I look at that picture often to remind me that I can press on no matter how big the obstacle is. Those bright eyes remind me to stay vigilant. This man is one of my biggest heroes cause he just did the right thing, not looking for glory. My prayers go to his family. A true hero and Ill never forget his sacrifice.

Shortly after 9-11, I picked up a card from a local group, each card listing a victim of the tragedy. Patrick's name is on my card, and I have it tucked in my Bible. I say a prayer for his family in his memory each time I come across this card in my Bible. I found it again today and decided to look up his name. I continue to pray and ask God's blessings for those he left behind.

I grew up next door to the Byrnes. I remember Patrick well. He was helpful; he was funny; and he always had time for me, whether it was to make me laugh, help with issues, or just listen. He will be missed.

My Uncle Patrick was like a brother, father and friend to me. Not a day goes by that I do not miss his witty humor and huge heart. He is with me everyday in my heart. My family still suffers a tremendous loss, as he was the center of our universe. He was an amazing son, a dear brother (one of 9!), and the best Uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Thank you for remembering him today and always. We will never forget and always love!
ps- The picture of the Byrne fireman going up the stairs is shown in the Times Memory Book of 9-11- I have the book and the photo brings chills to my spine every time bc I know he was going up to "fight fires and save lives!" (his motto!)

I have been deeply touched by this loss and really only knew 'uncle pat' when I was a child. What I remember is how much he loved his family. He would travel from NY to TN to see his nieces and nephews and always shower them with love and gifts. He was a very handsome and outgoing person. It has been a tough loss for my family (my cousins) as he was a wonderful role model for them. He was their closest and most favorite uncle and he is missed tremendously.
Rest in peace pat, you are missed and will never be forgotten!

My thoughts and prayers go out for Patrick Byrne and the other firemen who died as heroes in the twin towers.

It was on the list of heroes that lost their lives that day I seen Patrick's name. It sent a shiver down my spine when I read it. All the guys that gave so bravely their lives that awful day have my thoughts and prayers for them and their families, and always will be in the minds of someone, always. Why can't people live in peace and forget all the hatred in the world and live like the many who bravely think of others--the heroes of 9-11, to name a few?

I had worked for FEMA on 9/11/01. We had access later on of many photos taken before the collapse of the towers. I was searching through over 100 photos, when I stopped at one because it was the back of a fireman walking up the stairs in the towers. The photo showed his fireman's coat with the name "BYRNE" on it. Though it has been several years since I had seen the photo it still leaves an impression upon me that some distant relative lost a loved one, and our Byrne family had had a loss of immense impact. I offer my support and prayers to you and your family because I share the name "Byrne". God bless you always. Thanks for letting me share this. Sincerely, Darin J. Byrne, Winchester, VA, darinjbyrne@yahoo.com (I wish I knew where that photo was found because I would love to have you see it if you had not already seen it).

In honor the memory of Patrick Byrne who was a fire fighter that was trapped in the towers when it collasped. In high school he was in every sport you can think of and he had alot of friends very well known by everybody. He will sadly missed and never be forgotten. Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
