Hi. As you may know, I was once married to this wonderful man. He sure was a gift from god. I can't explain to everyone of you how much this man meant to me. He is my world and my love. Even though i've moved on,
he still remains in my heart. It's like that saying, "You never know what you have till you've lost it." Well, I do know what I lost, and it's a shame cause there is nothing more I would like to have back. Thanks to everyone who has kept us in their thoughts and prayers. Rebecca is great, and she is so much like him. She also misses him a lot, but we have hopes to see him again. Once again, thanks, and feel free to call us 347-728-8294.

I have a flag flown at the healing fields of central Iowa--Paul's name is on the yellow ribbon attached. I live half a country away, but it is with a heavy heart and great honor we will fly this flag at our home in his memory and all those who lost their lives that horrible day. God bless.

His smile was contagious and still shines through his daughter Rebecca

I met Paul a long time ago, and the first thing the struck me was that this guy started out as if he had known you for years. Always smiling, and his genuine personality. It's not surprising that so many people held him in such high regard. Before i started at Katherine Gibbs school in NYC, we would only exchange pleasantries, chat for about 5 minutes, say "we should hang out sometime" and go on our way. I was headed to class one day and i saw Paulie, I was kind of relieved to see a familiar face, i was new at the time, he was there for a year already. as time passed we had lunch maybe once. we never got the chance to hang simply because he was so dedicated to his work that he was too busy. But we still got to talk every so often. I left the school and saw him a year later at a Jehovah's Witness convention at Nassau Colliseum in long Island. He graduated, and he had a briefcase with the Bloomberg logo on it. He was so proud!! and although we weren't that close, i was happy for him, such nice things couldnt happen to a nicer person. that was august of 2000. Last time I ever saw him.

I was at a meeting at work on 9/11, when we went up to the roof (we weren't allowed out), the first building had already collapsed the second one fell about 5 minutes after we went up. when i saw that second building fall, i called my sis to see if any of our friends were in there. I had 3 friends that worked in the WTC. they were ok. 2 days later, Paulie's cousin tells my sis that he was in the windows of the world. a restaurant in one of the last floors of the complex.

my heart broke for his family especially for his little girl who at the tender age of 9 months was only beginning to speak.

Although i never got to know Paulie very well, he's just one of those people that leaves a lasting impression on those that he passes. commited to learning, hard worker, doting daddy, loving husband, proud man. A smile that can brighten up the darkest of places.

In all this i have learned many lessons, but one that stands out...

don't shake hands, say, let's hang sometime and continue walking. take the time out of your schedule to actually do it sometime. That opportunity just might pass you by never to return.

He will be missed. To Paulie's Family, i send my condolences, and all my brotherly love.

Nelson

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
