I spoke to Peter that morning. I have never shared this with anyone other than my wife. I was reaching out to him since we saw the plane hit the towers. I spoke to him just about every morning to receive rates for our trading desk. I had never met him but he was very professional and a great guy. God Bless the Fry family...

My thoughts are with Meredith, Taylor, Caley, and all those who felt the loss on this day. May you be comforted by all the good in this life as the country remembers this day on 9/11/11

Thinking about you today and the good times we had in college!

My name is Mary Whitcomb and I am the older sister of one of your best childhood friends, Arthur "Arlie" Whitcomb and had the distinct pleasure of watching you grow up into the exceptional man you became. I have kept you, your family and in particular your Father, brothers, your wife and beautiful daughters in my heart and prayers these past 10 yrs. I know you must be proud of your girls and the lovely young ladies they are becoming. I wish you peace and your family comfort in the knowledge that love never dies nor will your memory.

I went to high school with Pete. He dated both my roommates (at different times, of course). He was both funny, handsome and fun to be around with back then and I am sure he never changed. I lost touch with him after school, but was delighted to hear he had married (not one of the roommates) and had 3 children. But of course I was also devasted to hear he was no longer with us after 9/11-2001.

But in many ways he is not gone because of how much he accomplished in his short life and how much he gave to all who knew him. I will always remember, Pete.

I never knew you, but today I received an arm band with your name. I will wear it in remembrance of you and tell all that ask about you and your family, that you may never be forgotten. I will etch your name and the names of your family in my soul, and pray each day for their comfort.

I am truly sorry for loss. Hearing about this at the beginning of the summer broke my heart, especially your amazing family does not deserve what you went through. I am sincerely sorry to Taylor, Caley, and Meredith.

To the Fry family. I barely know Peter, I always wanted to know more about him. I'm his cousin from PA. His father is my Uncle Bud and his Sister was my Mother Alyce Louise Neuhauser (Fry). My other uncle is Gilbert Fry of Lancaster, PA. We only met a couple of times when Uncle Bud would come to Lancaster to see his mother and Jake. We were young and would play together at Grandma's apartment but I never saw him after that. I would just like to say I'm very sorry for your loss. I also lost my father at a very young age. I didn't know about Peter until my Aunt and Uncle Gill called me and told me the news, I guess that was months later.

I would like to tell you something that happened to me in while at Bagram AB, Afghanistan. I came across an American Flag in a case that had names written on it. One name popped out to me and it was Peter's name and I realized it was a Flag with all the 911 victims on it. I have deployed many times to Iraq and Afghanistan and I always go to the flag and look for Peter's name and remember why I'm there.
A Salute to you Peter and your Family.

Hi, Peter. I'm your daughter's best friend. Taylor's been through the worst anyone could go through and still remains strong- she's the best friend anyone could have. Peter you've got two amazing daughters. I never met you but your wife, Taylor and Caley are 3 exceptional people. RIP, and you're always in my heart, your families heart and a hero for many many people.

The memorial to you at the Island Visitors Center is peaceful today, with dark, cloudy skies and the sound of the incoming tide pushed by a southeast wind. The birds are singing about in the bushes, as the summer visitors have left the cape. A volunteer sits at the desk, the ferry has stopped, and the sky began to rain as we left. I'm home now and thinking of you and your family. I'm sad, but at least I can be home with my family. We never knew you, but we'll never forget you and your family, thanks to those chairs in the grass and the birds that sing to them.

Maddie is one of my best friends, and I am extremely upset about what happened. I had never met her Uncle Pete, but I hope he knows how well his family is doing. RIP, Uncle Pete.

I don't know who you are, but I received your name when my school passed out stars with names of the victims who've died.  I wish you and your family well even though I don't know who all of you are.

Pete,

I can't believe it's been two years.  You will be happy to know that my kids refer to your girls as their sisters.  Maddie, Will, and Caroline often ask about "Uncle Pete" and will tell anyone that "even though the bad guys killed Uncle Pete, he is up in heaven with God and is with us every day."

Plansky children, we all miss you!

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
