Pete Kellerman,

Years pass, time moves on, but the memory of you never wanes. You touched so many and are still present as you always will be...I will be honoring you at Bethesda Fountain my friend 10 years to the day that the world lost a light, a beacon.

Your body may be gone but your spirit lives on.

Rest in peace my friend.

We will see each other again.

I attended my 25th high school reunion (Lawrence HS, Cedarhurst, NY) the other night, and I was horrified to hear that Peter died in the 9-11 attacks. I remember Peter from #1 School in Lawrence, and although we were young children, I was in awe of how handsome and smart he was. He had shaggy blond hair and movie-star looks, and he was clearly brilliant, even at that young age. My thoughts and prayers are with Peter's family. Even though I did not see him later in our lives, his memory has stayed with me all these years.

I will be placing a flag on his grave, here in San Diego, today, when I go to visit my mother's grave located a few steps from Peter.  May his family find comfort in knowing that others have not forgotten.

I was visiting my Mother's grave this evening (here in San Diego, CA), and I went for a short walk. I came upon Peter Rodney Kellerman's grave. I looked at the dates and said, "Oh, he is 1 year and 23 days older than me."  Then I saw the date that he died and said, "That is the day.... And then I read his marker, and it was THE DAY. I came home and typed his name into the search engine, and his name was there.
My sympathy to his friends and family.

My mother passed unexpectedly, and I know how the shock of a sudden and unexpected passing affects one.
I hope that one day those who are responsible will be brought to justice and that no one else will have to go through what all of you have. 9/11 will always be remembered.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
