Phil, you were a great boss, a man with a big heart and soul, a fellow music lover, I remember when you came back one day from lunch excited with your new CD purchase of Garth Brooks which made me check Garth out. A fellow Jets fan who heartily rooted for our team. An eloquent letter writer, I have never before or since worked with someone whose words flowed so easily from brain to pen or computer; I learned alot from him. I worked for Phil starting in 1989 and even after Aon bought us and we no longer worked in the same office, I looked forward to your visits in the WTC. Phil loved his family very much and on this 10th anniversary of this horrible atrocity, I wish you, Joan and Stephanie peace.

Long time coming for this message.... I worked with Phil at Madison Intermediaries. I laughed with Phil at Madison Intermediaries. He was a bright light, a gentle giant of a man, who made a little black girl with a degree from Howard, and who knew nothing of business in the real world, feel welcome when the SVP didn't have to. I will forever miss his jokes, his smile, his readiness to buy another round after a particularly hard day when we all went out to unwind after work, his bushy mustache, and his words of love for Joanie and the little girl they had together about a month after I began working with him. He was so happy, so very proud of them both. Good lookin' out, "Philsy"!

Hi Phil,
Today is just one of those days--missing you SO much. You're supposed to be here growing old with me.... I wonder where you are, and if you are watching over us. If you are, you know that Steph has made great strides and is pulling her life together. You would be proud, so proud, of her. She's a lot like you--she certainly looks like you--she has your sense of humor and your gift of gab. A piece of you lives on in her, and seeing that helps me get through these sad days.
Even though this has been a good year and I'm in a relatively good place, I miss you every day, and I know I always will. Time has helped ease the pain, but your death has left a void--I will never be the same but will strive to live the rest of my life in a way that I know would make you proud. I love you, Phil.

I miss seeing Phil outside of One Liberty Plaza. I miss just having a cocktail and a joke with him about this crazy biz.
Joan, I miss not telling you all this a long time ago!

Phil was a classmate of mine at Muhlenberg College. On this day of remembrance, I want to share sympathies with his family.

Phil was my husband of 22 years and I will always remember the sparkle in his eyes, the love in his heart and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him. He lived his life with integrity, dignity, love and humor. He had a wonderful ear for music, a sense of adventure by getting his private pilot's license and a sense of pride in restoring his '77 MGB. Family and friends were paramount to him and we all miss his presence in our lives. The impression he made in my life will continue to carry me through the days without him. I loved him dearly and always will.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
