Randy has made 9/11 a very personal date for me. I worked with Randy for several years at Sprint, as he sat in the cubical across from mine. I have good memories of Randy and I have never met anyone that could throw a softball as hard as Randy could. We played softball after work and I once saw him throw a softball "line-drive" from center-field to home plate to catch a runner trying to make it home. I still have a set of air horns he gave me for a vehicle I was working on. Randy was a very good person and a very good friend. Our paths may have parted ways due to our careers, but Randy was always a friend you could count on.
May he rest in Peace.

I knew Randy from working with him in Lees Summit Baseball. His dedication to the program and to all the kids who played was impressive. Randy, your legacy lives on in all those you helped. You will always be remembered for your love of life and the joy you brought to others. :-) we will never forget

Randy,
I will never forget you. I can remember umpiring with you and seeing the expertise that you wanted to pass on to others. I keep that thought in my mind every time I step onto a field. You taught me a lot.

I'm sure I speak for more than just myself, for my family and your Sprint family when I say we still remember you, we still enjoy reading that your family is growing and that you're as well remembered by your other friends and family as you are by us. Please stay over our shoulders:-)--

Randy and Tammy lived across the street from me on 9-11-01. We had the usual "howdy do" neighborly contact, since our kids were not of the same age, although we knew that our older son's best friend was Randy's nephew. I remember being amazed that this tragedy could strike so far into America's heartland.
You all might be interested to know how God works in the details. I was invited to a church picnic at First Baptist Church, Blue Springs by a friend that weekend. (I had no other contact with the church.) At the end there was so much food left over that they were trying to figure out what to do with it. I mentioned Randy's family of 12 siblings and children and all, and they sent trays and dishes and platters of food home with me for the family. While his family was grieving their loss, the Lord saw to their physical needs from a most unexpected source.

I did not know of Randy's death till tonight, as we had lost touch years ago. He was a wonderful man, and I know his family must miss him terribly. He always lived life to the fullest, so I know he left his family with wonderful memories to sustain them in their grief. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Though I had never met Randy, he sounded like an extraordinary man. I feel sorry for his family's loss, for he was a loving father and an outgoing person. I hope he is never forgotten.

I didn't know Randy, but it sounds like he was a wonderful person, a good husband and father. My brother Ronnie and I knew Tammy in Pleasant Hill before she was pregnant with Joey. We were friends. I would like to talk to her 870-647-3159.

Though I never met you, I had the great pleasure of meeting and befriending your wonderful wife, Tammy. I felt you all around her. I can tell how much love there was between the two of you in the stories that she tells. And I still sense that in talking to her. I know you must have been a great man. And you have a wonderful family. You live on in spirit and I will never forget your legacy.

I'm sorry for the loss of a son, a father, a grandpa. I'm a grandpa, and your Randy, I'm sure, would have been a wonderful one. May God bless your entire family with his power of love and grace.

Well, on Saturday the 31st, Randy would have turned 45! And he is a "grandpa" twice over. I miss your smile, and your hugs, and your love. But most of all I miss just being with you and sharing our life. But I have you with me every minute of every day, no matter where I go. And I know your love is always with me. So until we meet again, Happy Birthday, my love.... I will always love you.

Hey, Randy,
I just want to say that I miss you, bubba ... and Tammy and Joe are doing okay. Thank you for being the brother you were, and it helps to know that when the time comes, you will be there waiting for each of us to make the journey. We all love and miss you so much and think of you daily. Funny how things change. You would have been a grandpa twice over, and now I'm a granny 3 times over, and, well, maybe soon we will expect number 4! Oh, how times and life changes! Keep dad on his toes. I love you and miss you.

Randy, you were a true friend and are missed greatly. I will never forget the hard work and fun times we shared. Your pictures will remain on my office walls. You told me I was more like a brother to you than a friend, knowing your great family, than meant a lot. May god Bless you, and watch over you until we meet again.

The girls wear your name on their shirts and remember you often. We talk about how heroes come from everywhere, even our li'l town. Red, white, and blue takes on a different meaning because of Randy and the other victims. To the family, remember openly, speak often of Randy. Thanks.

I used to commute to NY each week. When you travel that much, it is always nice to see people you know. I sat beside Randy a number of times on the flights. I just came across Randy's business card and thought I would see if there was any info about him. I know he was a good man! May God bless his family!

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
