Dear Renee, it has been 10 years since I last saw you. You came to temp for me at Hopkins- what a lovely surprise! Words cannot describe my feelings when I learned of your fate... You are missed by your family and friends. I think of you often and hope you are at peace...

Renee was my wifes roommate then brides maid. We have started a scholarship in her name at a local college. We both think of her often. Reports declare during the high jacking she stated 6 high jackers on her aircraft. the government indicates their were 5. I believe 6 were there because she was always known for her details. We miss her.

Renee and I met in Baltimore. We both lived on the same alley. She was always so full of life and had such a great smile and laugh. We became fast friends and even started the first Rally in the alley party that we got all of our neighbors involved. I remember how my heart sunk as I saw our friend walking up the alley toward me to tell me what I now already knew. Renee was on one of the planes. It was at that moment I decided to have one more Rally in the alley in memory of Renee and every other person that lost their lives on Sept 11th. It was a huge success! Renee I hope this finds you resting peacefully and looking over me and every other person whose life you touched! I think of you and your silly laugh often. Rest in Peace my friend!

Love, Kevin

Renee became an amazing friend in the short time that I knew her. I was only about eight years old when she honored me with her presence, but she made a huge impact in my life as well as my sister's. We were staying in Baltimore for a month, and she was my godmother's best friend and treated me and my sis like her own daughters. She showed us the sites and really took us under her wing. I will never forget her. She is forever in my heart and memories.

My heart goes out to her family. Still, I cant even imagine how much they must miss her if I still miss her so much. She truly was amazing. I know she is in heaven.

My deepest sympathy to all of Renee A. May's family and friends. I never met Renee but there is no doubt in my mind that she was a wonderful person and she is greatly missed. May God bless all of you and give you strength and endurance to keep going each day. My prayers are with you and for you, take care and smile even if you feel your heart is ripping smile for her smile with her.

Renee was like a big sister to me. When I had a problem I could go to her. Not a day goes by that I don't think about her. I used to live up the street from her. I would spend almost every day with her going all over Maryland. I used to blame myself for what happened to her. I just now realize that there was nothing I could do to change that day. I miss her so bad. I know that she would be proud of me. I promised her that I was going to go to a good high school and graduate and go to a good college and become a lawyer. I went to Digital Harbor high school and I graduated. Now I am about to go to college to become a lawyer. I know everyday she is looking down on me. This is the only way I can say goodbye to her and say thanks for all the support and love. The day after it happened I put a god bracelet on her steps and I just wish that I knew where she was so I can visit her. I still have all the pictures of me and her. Renee you were like a sister to me and I can and will never forget you,i love you and goodbye.

Renee and I buddy bid for a few years when we were both flying international out of BWI and were living in the same apartment building in Bolton Hill. What a great friend! What a great flight attendant! No one could make me laugh like Renee. She made the world a better place.

I never knew Renee personally but I did work for American Airlines when Sept. 11th happened. American sent all the flight attendants a memorial booklet of all the flight attendants who lost their lives that day. I read about her and she has always stayed in my mind. I, too, live in Baltimore, and I live couple blocks from the Walters Art Museum. I always think of her when I walk by the museum and I take a look at my own life and try to count my blessings. I now work out of Dulles as a flight attendant, and I am planning on quitting and going back to school.

Dear Renee,
I can't believe 5 yrs have passed. It seems like only yesterday we were talking and laughing. This world is such a better place because of you. Renee you touched so many lives in your 39 yrs. from the youngest to the very old. You always gave of yourself- the world needs more people like you in it! I so miss you, I think of you everyday. Brandon and Brittany miss you so much, but you gave them the best memories my kids could have - they smile and laugh about us sneaking Brandon in at the lake to go fishing. Our silly singing to the Spin Doctors! The special goodies you always brought to them. I of course miss picking up the phone to hear that sweet voice of yours. God Bless you Renee! Memories of you live in so many hearts everyday. Thank you for being the best friend anyone could have ever wished for. Love to your Mom, Dad and Brothers. You're an angel on our shoulders Renee! Love you always! Wendy Worden

Renee was more like a sister to me than a friend. She was on her way here to spend her layover with us when her plane crashed into the Pentagon. Now five years later, I remember the horror or that day but more importantly I think about what great times we had together. She always made me laugh and had an excitment for life that was unparalled. Every time I picked her up from the airport she had a huge smile and a crazy story. She was my friend, roommate, bridesmaid, confidante and a special aunt to my boys. Renee, I miss you!

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
