reading of your selfless heroic acts, I am clinging to the good God inspires in each of us. I hope we never have to endure something like this ever again, but if someone who read of your love for your fellowman learned anything, they will pass it on.

He is indeed a hero. He is of Cornish origin.

You were a real hero Rick, thinking of others instead of yourself. God gained a wonderful angel and may He always comfort your loved ones. RIP brave man.

I was part of the maintainance staff at Morgan Stanley
I was always there to clean all of the security offices on the 44th Fl. I knew Rick Rescorla I got to talk to him a few times and he always had a pleasant smile, word and a hand shake
when he would greet me. RIP Rick without you we might all be dead.God bless Mrs Rescorla and watch over her also

I learned of this man last night. A silent hero that truly should be recognized for his actions on this dreadful day.

Rick's story is that of a true hero, and he will always be remembered. I know he's in heaven. Men like him are rare, and I am glad that he was there to help the people he did. He went out the way. He would have wanted to ... serving his country and helping all those lives he saved.... May god bless.

Thank you, Rick, for every step you ever took for the love of life and love of freedom. I regret that I have only come to know your story in the last few months of 2010. However, I thank God I found your story. I salute you and your family and thank you for showing us what patriotism and sacrifice is all about! SALUTE! Rest well, my friend!

If there was any one person prepared for a day as horrible and tragic as 9/11, Rick Rescorla was it. He saved many people's lives that day. Rest in peace, Rick.

Rick,

You are the reason that God made heroes. It was in your blood since the day you were born. You not only saved thousands of lives that horrific day, but you also made millions of Americans aware of their surroundings on a daily basis. You have touched so many hearts, Rick, that you did not die in vain. You have left a legacy across the globe. Rest in peace. I know God is proud of his son.

I will make sure my little boy, Brandon, and my little girl, Annalise, (they're twins) read Rick's story when they are older. Sir! Thank you for everything you did that day and before!

Yesterday was the eighth anniversary of 9/11. Although I looked forward to paying tribute to the anniversary, I avoided the main stream media coverage all day, as I believe their sensationalism tends more to serve their political agendas than commemorate the tragic event itself. Having said that, late in the evening, I began watching several, consecutive, 9/11-based documentaries on the History Channel, and had the great fortune to see one program based on Richard Rescorla. His selfless dedication to the safety of Morgan Stanley employees was heroic, and I think he was the Oskar Schindler of the World Trade Center that day eight years ago.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
