I am sure you know how wonderful your daughter Savannah is and that you will forever be remembered and missed by everyone.

You really touched everyone who knew you.

Today is the 8 yr. anniversary of 9/11 and I wanted to do something to honor the victims who lost their lives that sad day. I went to donate blood at the Tulare 9/11 Memorial Blood Drive. I was handed a sticker with Robert's name. While I sat there waiting to give blood I wondered about the type of person Robert was and about his family. I see that he was a funny guy and very kind. It's sad to have lost such a person who has touched so many people. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

I was listening to the names called on TV at work today and I heard Robert's name mentioned. I would pray that if this is my friend from Junior High School that God is continuing to Bless his entire family. Robert was funny and a keep it real type of guy. He played a mean set on the drums also. James Foley, James Satchianno, Barry Sullivan, Charles Loicanno and Paul Plotkin just to name a few were all friends with Robert and we all just enjoyed being kids, growing to learn to respect each other regardless of race or religion. May the God of your understanding bring you Peace.

Bobby, it's 9/11/2009, so I'm waiting to see your picture and hear your name announced on the 9/11 tribute. Just want to say the my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Bobby was the eternal positive spirit, always finding the good in everyone. He was also one of the unintentionally funniest guys I ever met. He is impossible to forget.

I will always cherish our youthful days growing up on East 49th Street: Stickball and hockey from sun-up till sun-down. You will always be the center of my childhood memories. May God watch over your family. Until we meet again.

What can I say? Bobby V WAS THE LAST OF THE MOHIGANS, a great man. You're surely missed, but your spirit is alive and well, my 4th brother, dear friend, and compadre. When God brought you here, He broke the mold. You had the same great qualities as A GREAT Man by the name of Tony C., AKA MR. C. My dad! Hanna Kid! May God watch over your beautiful wife and beautiful daughter, and your extended family and friends. The great times we had will forever be etched in my mind and heart. Thanks for the memories. It was a blessing to have you as a friend and bro! Love you, brother! Until we meet again!

Sincerely,
Chris C.

To echo my friend Jim Cooney's comments, the laughs we had with Bobby were non-stop. In addition to the trips down to Wildwood, we had fond memories of Bobby just being Bobby. He knew how to make you laugh, and he especially liked when others made him laugh. We miss you, Bobby. The hours I spent in your basement watching Ranger games with you will forever stay with me. It's a bond we had that few knew about.

Bobby V. was a beautiful person. He always was upbeat and happy. He seemed to focus only on what was good about people and never the bad. I will always remember our trips down to Wildwood, N.J. The laughs we had just on the van rides down there alone were worth the trip. I think of Bobby often and miss him terribly. I thank God I was able to call him my friend.

I remember Robert Vicario. I used to hang out on his street with my cousin Frank when I was a teenager. Great person. He will surely be missed. May his spirit soar and fly as high as the eagle flies.

On this five year anniversary of the September 11th tragedy I would like to say a prayer for Robert Vicario.  He was my childhood sweetheart.  We grew up together on East 49th Street in Brooklyn and I have never forgotten him and never will. He was the first boy who ever kissed me.  We were always together.  He was the kindest, gentlest person.  My parents loved him.  When I heard about his death the first thing I did was get out the first love letters that he sent to me when I was 11 and he was 10 and read them again.  They still smell faintly of (his father or brother's) aftershave that he sprayed on the paper to impress me all those years ago.  I cried and remembered his sweet smile.  The last time I saw him was 25 years ago when we were both just starting our adult lives and we wished each other the best.  We kissed goodbye and I never saw him again.  From what I know of Robert as a boy and young man I know he must have had the best in a life that was ended way too soon and I hope that his family has the comfort of knowing what a wonderful guy he was.  And so I say a prayer for Robert, my first love.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
