As we approach the 10th anniversary of 9-11 I want to thank you for your sacrifice. The Bible says in John 15:13 (NIV) "No one can have greater love than to give his life for his friends." That is a true hero, that is Robert Curatolo. I wear the red metal bracelet each year at this time and though I never knew him, I look forward to meeting him in Heaven. My prayers are for his family during this time - a time we will never forget.

My mother knew him back in high school, I would have loved to have gotten to know you, but I will still cherish your memory forever.

I remember that horrific day. I am from Brooklyn; I now live in Las Vegas. My maiden name is Curatolo—not sure if we are related. May you rest in peace. I will continue to pray for your family.

My son took the FDNY test in Jan. He is 20 years old. He is now a VFDNY at Richmond 1 on Staten Island. His name is Michael Curatolo. I hope he can keep the name Curatolo in FDNY for a long time.

Hello to the friends and family of Robert Curatolo. My name is Bill Jones, a firefighter at Langley AFB Fire Dept. in Hampton VA. In my own private way I wanted to show my feelings and emotions of that one tragic day. I did not know any of the 343 firefighters or anyone else that lost their lives that day, but being a brother firefighter, the pain and grief was felt world wide. I purchsed a bracelet not knowing who was going to be on it, I was lucky to receive one with Robers name on it with his Ladder Co #16 on it. I am proud to wear it every single day. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the familes who lost loved ones and to Robers family. My god bless you.

After 9-11 I went to a site where you could purchase bracelets with the names of the firefighters lost on that horrible day. I chose a bracelet with a random name on it. It was Robert Curatolo. I found his picture online after I got the bracelet. Yesterday was the 5 year anniversary. I printed out his picture and said a prayer for the Curatolo family. My love and best wishes go out to them.

Rob was a great friend, brother, husband... He will be missed. He gave his life racing towards the collapsing buildings, showing a devotion that was taught by his family. Billy and John - thank God that you made it out alive, I'm sorry you lost your brother...

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
