I think of Rob everyday. Living in Union City, NJ, across the Hudson from NYC, I think of the events of 9/11/01. I remember Rob from my time with Verizon Wireless. Rob left great memories with many people. Rest in peace Rob.

Bob,

I think of you often! I have such fond memories of the plays we did at Pauda, especially Cinderella when you were the king! You had such a big personality and such a kind soul! I can't imagine the pain your family goes through, but I can imagine the loss they feel, as you were such a great guy. R.I.P., my friend. I know you are singing and telling jokes in heaven!

Hey Robert,

I live in Wilmington, and I was surprised to hear someone from a state as small as Delaware was killed in such a major attack. You really didn't deserve this. You were doing the one thing you loved. I think I might become a flight attendant myself someday, like you. You seem like such an awesome guy, and I wish I could've met you. I'll remember you.

Robert,

I never knew you, but your heroism truely represents the American spirit. You will ALWAYS be remembered, and I only hope that you have found peace where you are now. God bless.

I didn't know Robert. I ordered a Mercy Band shortly after the 9/11 tragedy, and the band I received was for Flight 175 and Robert Fangman. He is truly a hero and is in my heart today and every day. He will always be remembered.

September the 11th would be a hard day, no matter what, but the fact that you were taken from us during such a senseless act is so difficult to deal with. It never gets easier. I remember you whenever I am up in the sky and whenever we are in Mexico. I miss you, my friend. May God be with your family on this day.

I met Robert a long time ago, and he helped me through my hard times with my ex-wife. He was a kind man and very respectful. It took me a long time to get over this, but here I am expressing my feelings. My prayers go to his family and friends. R.I.P., Robert, you will always be in my heart.

Peace,
June

I offer my condolences to all the victims' families and friends even though I never knew how special they were.

As expected you have been thought of a lot this week. You are missed as much today... as you have been since the day, seven years ago you were ripped from our lives. I will never forget you, and will always be grateful for the short time you were a part of our lives.

I was friends with Bobby's older siblings, Mike, Debbie, Marty, and Teri back in the 70's and 80's. My ex-husband, Glenn Davis, and I used to hang around with Michael a lot at the beach and in Wilmington. God bless the entire Fangman family today, and every day. And, God bless America. Bobby is in a better place now.

I can not say how deeply and emotionally sad I am, even though I never met you in person. Thanks to your wonderful friend Kim @ Verizon Wireless, whom I met at the Dad Vale Regatta in Philly in 1999, she is how I had chance to get to know you. I enjoyed the emails and hoped one day we would meet, maybe at some corporate event or out having fun.

That day, my manager asked me if I knew of you ... and I became lifeless because I knew what she was about to tell me.... I cry every time this devious, malicious act comes to date, knowing that some devilish power took you from this physical world, but I keep in the back of my mind all the fun we will have when you greet me at the great gates in the sky.... NEVER FORGOTTEN!

I only knew Rob for a week. He was leaving to start his job at US Air. He was trying to give me easy recipes to help teach me to cook. I told him he should publish a cook book and sign a copy for me. I did not know him well, but he seemed like such a nice person.

Robert, on this day you will forever be remembered in my life. From the moment Jared and I met you in Puerto Vallarta, we knew we had met someone who would be in our lives for many years to come. I am so grateful we were able to meet years later, during one of your lay-overs in San Francisco for some good conversation over dinner. We knew you had found your calling as a flight attendant, and were doing something that you loved. I will forever be thankful for the time we did have you in our lives. We will always miss you, and never forget.

Dear Robert,

Though I did not ever know you, it is obvious that you were a very special person. After all this time, the memories you gave people still live so vividly in their lives. May those memories keep your loved ones strong. With each person who laughs about something you got up to, you continue your travel around the globe. You have reached Cape Town, South Africa. Enjoy your visit; I will make sure to speak of you to my friends and tell them to speak of you to someone else. Thus continuing your love of travel. Who knows? I might be lucky enuff to meet you next time around.

luv
shane.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
