Well I didn't know Robert, but I know that he is a hero. Everytime when I watch the United 175 crashing I can't believe that Rob was right there. I respect him a lot, especially when he sat down and called to United Airlines to give information of the hijacking. I always pray for him. God bless him.

I remember "The Fangman". The guy in high school with alot of style, a wide grin and a better than average singing voice. The kind, big hearted guy that stood up to bullies even when it made him their target. He didn't follow the pack but stood strongly for what he believed in, he could tell when a friend was down and was very good at cheering them up. I remember his attempts to teach me hacky-sack and the laughs we had, at school, parties, during the play, basically anywhere. He loved to laugh. He had a good soul and was one of those people you knew would do great things. The world was robbed when he died. He had so much to offer. I miss him.

I grew up with Bob and he was a very best friend. He was always everything that a friend is supposed to be. He was always fun and real and serious when necesary. He saw good in everyone but also told you when you needed to take a look at yourself and think about what you were doing. I will always love and miss him and sometimes say hey Bob did you see this when certain things are going on. His spirit is forever.

I miss you everyday.  I love you and will eat noodles and gravy today, just for you!!  See you someday.  All my love.

Working in New York City and seeing the empty space where the World Trade Center stood, I think of Rob Fangman everyday. I worked with him at Verizon Wireless. He was a wonderfully happy person. The last time I saw him was at a company party where he was acknowledged for his service and it was mentioned that he was going to become a flight attendant. He was very excited, and we were very happy for him. Rob made all who he contacted feel good. I know he is missed by many on this day, four years later.
God bless the memory of Rob.

Rob was the kind of person who made you feel good just being around him. He was witty and fun and warm. He drew people in without even trying; he loved people, and people loved him. Rob was a good friend. We spent time together on a number of occasions, went to a few parties together, and I cherish those moments. He loved music, as do I, and I had the privilege of playing guitar in a band in which he would sing every so often. Again, Rob was the kind of guy who one couldn't help being drawn to. I miss him a lot.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
